I touch on both personal and what the website was about and what I hoped to accomplish.

Thank you all very much for the feedback. You've all given great advice to consider and it is greatly appreciated.
Hi
There are so many ways you can an about me profile.
Just like there are many you. example
you could be a mother/father, brother/sister, manager/assistant, web designer, CEO, captain, homemaker, I could go on.
The reason why I say this is because you can chose any one of those parts of you to write about and it is still about you. and the choice is your to make because there is no right or wrong here.
I hope this helps
Jennifer
Thank you very much Jennifer for the feedback. You've given me additional information to consider and I do appreciate it.
Like your question as this is something to consider -- it's the ol' trust & confidence issue relating to the credibility/reputation of a business... depending upon your niche or sector -- suggest have a look at some of these 'about' pages to get a better idea of what you'd like to present by researching some already successful entities... just a thought... enjoy the journey, cheerio... :)
Hello MakrizmanI have thought about what you have said about no personal stuff. The only reason people buy from you is 1.They like you2.They trust you. How can they like and trust you if they don’t know anything about you. First you develope a rapport with them. You connect with them when they like you.You will not see them face to face so the only way that they will get to know you is your writing to them. When you give of yourself the people you are writing to give of themselves.
Tell your story. No one can do it as well as you can!
Hey Mike,
Yes, if you want to reach others with your information, making an About page feel like you really want to share with your readers, makes it easier for readers to trust what you say.
Leastwise, I have discovered that Kyle's method is the winning way in creating an About page.
Hope this helps you.

I did basically the same thing as Mary. I started out personal, why I chose my niche, and then what I intend for my website to offer. Welcome to WA and I'm sure you'll do well.
