Hi Folks,

I am opening the floor to a discussion on what your open rate conversion percentage is?

This would be the 1st email after your lead subscribes.

W

1-3.2,1-4.3,3.45,
2.4.6

Hi Jay,

Mine is 65% with 47% click through rate. This is quite a new list and at this stage, I only have 7 subscribers. I would be interested to know what the usual percentages are?

Thank you,
Edith

We have several lists on the go which are all in the make money online niche. Here are the open rates.

183 subs 26.7% open rate on first email
53 subs (new list) 43.3% open rate on first email
148 subs 44.5% open rate on first email and 41.9% open rate on the 2nd email
112 subs 33.6% open rate on first email
298 subs 31% open rate on first email

What are the types of lists to setup Jon? I am just starting out. Thank you

Not to sure what you mean John. Can you expand a bit? When you say 'types of lists" I am not sure how to answer.

We run traffic through several landing pages and have at least a week of daily emails set up in the autoresponder sequence.

Thanks Jon, in my case I'll offer a MMO guide and have 1 or 2 captures and all will be on the same "list". Whereas you mention several lists, so I mean what types of lists have you setup in your MMO niche website?
So I mean how do your captures vary and what differing lists are you creating?
You list 5 different rows of subs and open rates - these are probably the different lists I'm asking about. Thanks in advance :)

Ahh, I see John.
Yes we promote WA but through different ways in. We have a list for complete newbies, 1 for Linkedin people, 1 for more advanced marketers, 1 for people looking to start a blog and so on...

Because their needs are all a little different, that is why we have different lists.

All the best

Jon

Thanks, that really helps.
OK I realise my starting list is for complete newbies - got to start somewhere. Thanks for the tips

Not so good Jay. Embarrassed to say. Looking forward to seeing you tonight. Been having a nightmare with my settings. Back to the drawing board for me.
Michael

21.2 % Jay On one list 33.3 % on the other about a 17% click through rate on both lists .

Hi Jay, maybe slightly off topic, but I do see lots of WA members are changing their WA Review/ Landing pages to Email Opt-in page (Email marketing) in order to have more control of traffic.

What are your thoughts on this if you don't mind?

I think this can be a good idea personally, if you have your email sequence under wraps and it is high converting. If your email sequence isn't polished, then you are going to suffer in terms of your overall revenue.

Building a list, is a business in itself. It is a good idea at some point to make this a consideration, and there are many ways you can implement lead generation into your website, but do know that many that try this leave a lot of money on the table, whereas others can actually generate more revenue as a result of this.

Thanks for the response Kyle. Basically it can go either way: - good or bad. Something to consider and maybe experiment with.

Hi Jay. At the moment I have a list with 54.5%. See attachment.

I lost a few opens there due to deliverability issues which should now be taken care of.

Hi Jay, mine is 100% because I am my only subscriber. Lol.

Gotta please yourself before others Rey!

Thanks for chiming in.

A WA member was asking about SEnuke and whether it was any good. I felt compelled to share my thoughts within a classroom discussion as it is important that YOU understand to stay

Another thing that is not talked about too often is the evil that can be done with these automated backlink tools. All anyone has to do to try and take down a competitor is too use SEnuke, Build My Rank, Backlink Beast ect to create tons of low quality backlinks and point them to your competitor. Google will think its your competitor that is trying to game the system. Scary stuff. Especially if it happens to you.

Thanks for sharing this. It's good to know the great people here at WA have our backs covered. It just goes to show you that the majority of the population has become lazy, complacent, and think the way to wealth is either the lottery, the easy button, or simply take it from someone else who worked hard for it. Not one of my businesses ever had an "EASY BUTTON". Thanks again Jay.

I really appreciate this informative post.

Now, it's back to work with my training here at WA so I can find success the honest way.

Agree 100%, but I sure do have trouble getting readers to share without begging them to.

Do not ask for back links in a site it is another sure way to annoy the pandaquin at big G! Their employees see that too! Just place a prominent bookmarking tool to allow people to do it easily. Asking is seen as spam too!

Never used any of these tools - just tend to run when the words "push one button" are tossed around.

Tools like this are useless and are just a waste of money another one to stay clear of is Build My Rank -

I thought Build My Rank was dead! Or has it re-emerged in a different format Leoemery?

Amen!

The lastest animal updates by Google has made stuff like SENuke, automated backlink tools, spinners etc obsolete. Anyone who has a business built around providing any of these services does/should not have a business anymore unless they're catering to people who didn't get the memo.

Makes me wonder why I'm still getting spam comments in my Wordpress but I guess some people just don't realize what's going on.

Well, fortunately for you and I most people don't have a clue and a lot of the folks out there are still teaching this stuff to make a buck. Let the competition continue using tools like this because they will quickly become obsolete leaving people that are using proper techniques more opportunity.

Thanks, for the info on Seonuke. Have seen it couple of time and was thinking, does it do any good, now from your review looks like the best thing we can come up with is enganging and quality content.

Since when were automated backlinks cool? 2010 came and went, and the folks that are still using tools like this and techniques that automate backlinks are going to be left in the dust.

Thanks for the heads up to the folks here at WA that may be "sucked" into or influenced to purchase a product that will actually curb their SEO success (rather than help them).

Thank you Jay very informative

Thanks for sharing Jay.

Any tool that ever tries to do things in an "AUTOMATED" fashion will end up getting you booted out of Google very fast. Too many of these products out there do this and it goes to show the little understanding the owners have of what works what what doesn't in the world of online business and SEO.

Stay well clear of this product.

Hi Folks, Today I have decided to share with you an audio cast about local marketing factors. And yes, I shall call them 'WAudiocasts'.. :) This is a new feature I am starting a

Very helpful Jay.... I like this quick summary.

I like audio...of course I would... there was not T.V. when I was young...We sat around 4' high console radio listening to Inter-Sanctum...here is a link http://archive.org/details/otr_innersanctummysteries

Hey Jay:

In my opinion, I'd rather watch the WAbinars. I "need" to have a visual of what you are talking about. Therefore, a pdf with images is better than just the audio...unless I was on a road trip and wanted to learn while driving ;)

Charlie

For authorship in this case, would you link their website to their personal +profile or +business page? I did not know you could get authorship for a page, I thought it was only for Publisher Status, or maybe the difference isn't important.

Not sure!

You would you link their website to their personal +profile as a personal profile image would get in the SERPs whereas a +business page image will not.

would the pronunciation be "wow-dio-casts" or "wad-io-casts" ? :) I like the idea of sound cloud, and am trying to find time to get some sounds up!

Thanks for dropping jewels

Thanks

Pretty darn neat!

Thanks Jesse!
I hope it helps you local business. :)

I liked the information provided. I am not planning to do local marketing but I have some friends who might be able to take advantage of this information.

Thanks, Jay. As always, very helpful

Kali

Thank you very much! Sharing is caring.. :)

Always a pleasure to step into your world and learn from you Jay. Thanks for taking time out of your already busy schedule to share your new WAudiocasts series!

Thanks Jamie!

It's fun to ramble on and record it.. lol

I am posting this on behalf of @jpwealth If I embed a video from YouTube, how do I get it on my website? Assuming your site is wordpress.. * Grab the code from the YouTube page

Thanks! Decided to put a video on my site and this helped a lot! :)

I just made a note to myself yesterday to search this topic within WA , as I've got a notepad of ideas and content to add to my site. It's like you read my mind :) Thanks for sharing!!!

Short and simple, thanks!

All you need is the url whether you're using Jetpack or not. This feature was made available from Version 2.9 and up.

You can also automatically embed using urls from Dailymotion, twitter, Instagram, Soundcloud, Slideshare, Scribd, Hulu and some other stuff.

http://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds

This is easy. ;) I think this is a good discussion though because I was actually using a plugin to do this for me for a while, when all I had to do was insert the URL for it.

I take it you use Jetpack.

No, I don't. You can embed Youtube vids without a plugin. Just copy and paste the URL in the html tab and it'll automatically show up. Wordpress.org and Youtube.com apparently worked something out.

Well originally it was a Jetpack plugin only feature, it also worked with Tweet URL's.
I think Jetpack is somewhat tied to the Wordpress developers and this change makes sense and is a good move.

Thanks Jay / Carson; It worked after I published the website. Apologies to Rich, I know now that I should have published the site when you told me. Thanks all. I really appreciate your help and direction.

My Website isn't published yet. I'm still in draft mode. If that should make a difference?

I spoke too soon. I'm not seeing an HTML tab at the top of the edit area.

When you are editing a wordpress page or post, you have TWO tabs. One is labeled "Visual" and the other is labeled "Text". Jay was referring to "Text".

Thanks for posting Jay, this will help a ton of folks spruce up their sites by adding video.

OK, I'll check the text tab.

Perfect! Thanks Jay.

sounds great, let's make it a reality

Sounds like a great idea, what happened?

did you ever take this any further? I think its a good idea

I have used Flippa both bought and sold sites and yes the fees are annoying. I would definitely use a site with a $15 flat fee, great idea Jay!!

I've never used Flippa, but have browsed their auctions from time to time. I think it's a great idea to be able to buy and sell web properties. Flippa seems to be very popular and have lots of active users.

I think the major challenge will be quality control. My impression is that someone can create a rubbish web 2.0 property faster than a rubbish website!

Do you think you would have to get permission from FB, G, or Squidoo to buy and sell things made on their platforms?

thanks, I think is great cos i wanted to sell my site at some point but flippa's price was completely overwhelming

In principle this sounds fine. Quick question which maybe naive but my knowledge in this area is limited to say the least. If I was to sell a siterubix site this way which is hosted here in WA for me free what happens to it when it is sold - does it get rehosted somewhere else?
Hudson

I like it... sounds good... I have a few domains I could sell. Let us know when and where.
Julie

they charge me $29 to sell a domain, or I should say put a domain up for auction. I did what jay said on jaaxy, about flipping domains, It's been 18 days and I haven't got not 1 bid, I will keep the community posted on that progress.

Purchase the sites for me? or to resell?

If I am going to resell would you still not need the skill to transfer ownership, then put work into personalizing it. The site I would buy would probably be very basic - could maybe do it myself something fancier would take time who's going to do it for $15?

Positive Side - Maybe do up a few of these niche sites and let them sit for the domain name to age.

Not sure I am definitely going to follow up on this.
