Keywords are Never Going Away

Hi Folks,

I've been reading some posts here on WA about the threat of how keywords are no longer going to be relevant in SEO and how it will disrupt the world.

I personally think this is false information and keywords will never go away.

Focusing on SEO keywords and Search Engines IS focusing on the customer and the UX as you are delivering content based on what the reader actually searched for.

Keywords are NEVER going to go away because it is the root of everything else:

  • LSI KEYWORDS
  • RETARGETING
  • ADWORDS
  • LOCAL SEO
  • HOW GOOGLE INDEXES THEIR CONTENT

If keywords, go away (which they won’t), then how are people supposed to find the information they are looking for? Even artificial intelligence has to start with an initial query which would involve a keyword.

[mic drop]

I agree, however, it's important not too get hung up on exact match keywords. Particularly when you're playing around with stop words... if you're swapping out "of" for "with" or "that" instead of "which" as an example. Jaaxy and the WA keyword tool can sometimes make you think you've struck gold, but it's critical to research similar keywords and do your SERP research as well (which I think Jay did a great live training on). At least... IMHO.

Key words are the key to your success

Thank you Jay. We need reassurance on this. Keywords are indicators that work!

Amen to that!!

@magistudios I understand and stated as much in my article I am not saying they are going away as the shift is changing from exact keywords to the overall delivery of the entire article and relevance.

What I am saying in this article is that it is more important to write for people than search engines.

Keywords will always be around to a point, I agree. However, as the algorithms advance the intent behind the keywords and parallel with the search history and nature of a specific demographics is now becoming king.

Thanks, Jay, for your commenting on mine, just returning the courtesy.

Here...did you drop this?

I don't think Jays response was aimed at you there has been other posts about this. However, they didn't come explain how you did. Which tbh you didn't say keywords are thing of the past.

You merely pointed out that user experience and writing for people is key.

Which it is, but keywords have to and always will be at the forefront of being found

This is correct. I agree. However, it's like saying to someone here, " let's meet at 7 PM. One problem, depending on where you are 7 PM means different things.

I see people say all the time that they are page 1 position 3 ( for example) in Google. I laugh as that is relevant. They are in that position for who? That is relevant. Your SERP and my SERP are two different things.

Search Engines are designed for you to find what you are looking for. If you are you and looking for you... guess who you are gonna find?

I will share screens with anyone who wants me to prove this FACT.

The exact keywords WILL NOT render the same results any longer. It is largely (and growing) based on the article in its entirety.

Thank you for allowing me to contribute. I commented because, Jay commented on mine and I have tremendous respect for him and you and all those at WA.

Hahaha....too funny!

I read your, Mike Kearns, and Jays post. Even with my limited tech savvy knowledge, I understood what you were saying.

We all know technology advances, the cell phones we use today are not the cell phones we used 10 years ago. I'm sure how SEO functions will change over time, but for now....we should write for the customer....got it!

Correct me if I'm wrong....but doesn't Kyle address that in the Certification....hmmmm.....

Yes he does, lol. I guess it's only wrong when I say it, lol.

I agree with You.

Search engines especially Big Boy Google is ranking blogs not just for exact title keyword but on the basis of the quality of entire content.

So even if you do not have the exact keyword in your blog title but have the relevant and quality content, Google is going to reward you with a higher ranking.
So you need to write relevant, thorough and quality blog posts on the topic.

Simple to understand,

[Keyword = Topic].

The entire content is MORE important in SEO, not just the keyword

Suppose,
Blog no.1 - Relevant quality Information on the topic post but do not have the exact match keyword.

Blog no.2- Relevant quality Information + The targetted keyword.
Q-Who will win?
A: The winner is blog no.2 for better SEO.

Yes yes yes a thousand times yes!! Thank you so much.

In fact, Google will rank your post (as long as it is relevant) with keywords that you do not even target..... over time.

Google considers visitors OVER affiliates or any marketer, bar-none.

Yes, User experience is key in SEO. That's why page load speed, SiteSSL etc are important too.

I think it's more of a confusion! Kyle makes it clear in the training that keywords are NECESSARY!

He stated not too overload on keywords and people took it as NO KEYWORDS!

Glad you posted Jay

Shannon

So why are such false information allowed?

I can't believe anyone would think that way, Jay, especially here at Wealthy Affiliate. Maybe they phrasing it wrongfully. Maybe they were referring to Keyword stuffing on articles. Just saying.
Anyways, thank you for reaffirming that, cause I just purchase the Jaaxy Enterprise package. lol....Make it a great day.

I read some posts about the same thing. I couldn't dignify it with a response

Thanks for the post!
