Themes, they can drive you nuts!
When I first started there, finding a niche and finding a Theme were hard enough, putting content in is fairly easy when you're writing about you know. Finding my way around the Theme I chose, Weaver Xtreme, was a painstaking process and I think I did rather well for a WordPress beginner. I recently ran into a problem that seemed unsurmountable, my comments section was not working for readers or for myself checking into my website. WA Support here finally fixed it, after the Webmaster on the Theme said it was 100% not their problem. I began looking at other Themes again before this problem was resolved, and I realized that I knew a LOT more about what all the features in the Themes meant than when I first looked for a Theme. Having content in there also makes it easier, because you can install a new Theme (without activating it) and then choose Preview. Your content will now temporarily load into the the new Theme and you can see how it might work. Believe me, it makes a LOT more sense with the content in there.

I spent most of my time looking for the perfect theme. I have been doing this for almost a week. Very frustrating sometimes. I understand what you mean. Good luck to you.
I suggest you check out the customizr theme, you can watch tutorials on putting one together on Youtube. I have a bit more time now to watch and learn from the tutuorials now that my Weaver Xtreme website is no longer 'broken'.

Hi again, I completely understand your issue with "themes" although here and on wordpress in general the make this so easy to construct a finished site its no wonder that have such a good reputati0on. It's well deserved I have used many types of website builders and none compare to WP for both usability and function. The have so much versatility you can almost do anything using them from a beginner novice to an experienced webmaster with an enterprise size operation. Just keep playing with it until you get the one you like and and be comfortabloe using.
Also be sure to take part in the conversations as you go through the lessons. When you get the comments working ok you can interact there also it will help improve your ranking and its good practice.
