Plugging away
I have built out a rather large website about raising a good dog but was not getting any traffic. I have worked hard to get merchants banners and links into my pages but no sales because of lack of traffic. I recently realized that I had not been paying as much attention to keywords as I should have. Also somewhere along the way, my site has become un verified! I found out yesterday when I was going through one of Jay's videos. I corrected it this morning with WA support's help. I was surprised how easy it was, going the route of an HTML tag and inserting it into my SEO in my dashboard! The first time I verified it, I remember it was a very complicated route and I dreaded doing it again! What would cause my website to be no longer verified? I have no idea. I am just glad I caught it. I also realized recently through a WA member's own website, where she had advice (Erica's Nest) about keywords, that I had not focused on using alt text on all my images as keywords. After reading much of her lovely blogs and pages, I went to work on my own, re titling, re naming, re reading content to see where i could use keywords. The video by Jay, about 7 ways to get ranking, he states that only one keyword is needed in the content but I decided to do a bit more than that. My head was spinning for a few days and again yesterday while I tried to figure out the verification process for both Pinterest (following Marion Black's recent video) and Google (using Jay's instructional video at Support's urging). I find when I just get too frustrated or my brain goes into overload, leaving my desk and doing something else really helps to re focus me again. These days I have a lot of lawn mowing to do, weeding, watering the gardens etc. so working outside helps to clear my head. Anyway, it's time to buckle down here again.

Sometimes you really do need to just walk away. I can easily sit in front of my laptop for several hours. But at some point during the week, I need to just relax, whether it's to catch something good on Netflix for a while, organize/clean, or just to sit in the park and engage in people watching.
Oh, yeah...keywords are crutial! Use them, love them, and use them some more. Keep up the great work, Maddy!
Thanks Veronica! I ran into another snaffuu recently, thankfully another WA member here pointed it out to me. My comments apparently don't work at all. I spent most of the afternoon and part of the evening trying to figure it out and got nowhere. I finally sent the problem to Support and we'll see what they come up with.
thanks Veronica! I have checked out your website and I am awestruck at how much content you have in there already! I hope you are getting some income already? I have not been but I am focusing more on keywords now and hopefully the traffic and income will come.
I appreciate that, Maddy. Some people have double or tripple if what I have, in the same or less time, so it's all relative.
Going forward, I need to utilize social media a lot more than I have, which was really nothing, so more is a definite step in the right direction.
I hit a roadblock with my comments not working and it sent me into a panic mode. It got fixed 18 hours ago through Support. I am so relieved. Now my creative juices can get flowing again. Now that the roadblock is no longer there, I too will get going in the direction of social media. When I thought I might have to give up completely on my Theme, I found another that I might try too. However, now there is not the urgent rush that I felt before. I am using Weaver Xtreme but the Theme called Customizr looks more exciting and easier to set up.
