Hard Work leads to Success

The final two steps that are required are the following...

#2.....Always do 50% to 100% more than you are paid to do. I have nursed injured dogs when they arrived in that condition, I have administered medicines, bandaged limbs, , given insulin injections, trained dogs to behave more politely, house trained dogs and puppies, all with almost never asking for any extra payment. I have been pooped on, peed on, bitten, knocked down, taken dogs outside in nasty weather, pouring rain, blizzards, freezing temps of minus 35C. I have scraped poop off the walls, floors, handled some crazy dogs, some crazy scary dogs too. Build the base, and work harder than you ever expected to.

#3- Last but not least is being honest and diplomatic, as much as you are able to be. In business, you can't always choose your clients. I found that I did have to filter out some dogs and some humans, due to either the dog was not suited to being kenneled or the owner chose to be unreliable. Sometimes I had to refuse to groom a dog because of aggressiveness on behalf of the dog or the owner again was unreliable. That is my right as business owner, the customer is not always right. That is a fallacy. Every business owner has the right to being treated fairly in return for good service.

In summary, my home business was a physical one as opposed to online as we are all here at WA, but the principals can be applied in all business. I will be retiring from my physical business in a few weeks after a 23 year career in owning and running a Pet Hotel. I have already downsized greatly, no longer making that $37,000 unfortunately. The physical work took it's toll on my body so I ended my Dog Grooming service about 11 years ago (Groomed for 12 years) and downsized the number of kennels in the Pet Hotel too and finally shut down for winters for the last 3 years.

I will apply what I have learned to my online business too, hard work, determination, patience, using my intuition in what my customers want or need, keeping an open mind, treating everyone with respect and expecting the same in return, always do more than people expect and so on.
