Hey Maddie

Your website is still quite new and google takes time to trust new websites. Usually around 20 of so quality posts.

Don't stress about the rankings until then.

Some things to look into.

1. Google webmaster tools
2. Google analytics
3. Sharing your website on FB, G+, twitter, instagram etc... with #tags
4. PLEASE DON't SPEND MORE THAN 30 MINUTES A WEEK ON THE ABOVE 3... It is just for reference.
5. Fetch your website on Google Webmaster Tools, upload sitemap etc.

These things are all covered in the training, so if you haven't reached that part of the Wealthy Affiliate training... PLEASE DON'T JUMP AHEAD ;) You do not want to overwhelm yourself with easy things because you skipped a step or two.

Lastly, if you haven't reached these steps in the training, then you should defz not be stressing about ranking... All you want to do is produce quality content for when you start getting noticed by Google.

Hope this helps :)

Maybe these will help:

I just finished the course on key words yesterday. it was suggested that we put them in the beginning, middle and end of our page. you may want to give that a try buddy

For sure you will need to incorporate the Keyword into the title and into the first or second paragraph... !! Is the site new or have you had it online for a while now?

I have a new site barley 3days old, my keywords are ranked but the ranking in actual Google and jaaxy are quite different pages

It's been up with content on it for a little over a month, but I just signed up for Wincher yesterday to see that not even one of my actual keywords are ranked. http://healthylifewithmaddie.com

I've noticed that too. I don't know why that is.

Your position will bounce around drastically until Google settles and begins to trust your content.

I've been looking around at other sites again, and I'm trying to figure out how/if I can change the way my website title looks and possibly add designs. Is this done with spec

Thanks guys! I changed my theme and my site is so much better now.

I agree with Dave consider changing your theme, many allow you to insert your own logo etc just need to go to the theme and customize, if your looking to create your own logo etc you can try it out with cooltext.com

Start by Changing your theme. There are thousands of themes you should be able to find one that is suitable for your desires.

or just change the theme

I'm not sure how your control panel looks like inside.
It depends what theme you are using.
Some theme allow you to change the font color/size in your header.

Try this:
Go to Appearance
>select Customize
Find here if there's something that says: Header or Logo
Find the dimension of your header/logo.

If you can't find in Customize
>select Theme Options
You may find something that says: Header or Logo

Find the dimension of the header or logo.

Then go to http://Fiverr.com and find a service/gig for logo.
It usually costs $5 for a header or logo.
Find a designer that has high rating.

Just tell the designer what you want your logo like.
Don't forget to tell the dimension info.

When you receive the logo/header go back to the section where you find the dimension or your header/logo. There should be a button that says upload.

I know most people who have done this that have a creative title and design, just created a custom logo with their sites name in it and uploaded it.

Most sites come with the generic text at the top and I haven't ran into any other site that has the option to have unique text as your title.

As far as plugins I'm not sure, but there's so many I'm sure a quick google search will turn some up:)

Hope this helped!

I have my pages made, however I can't figure out how to add posts to other pages than just the home screen. Thanks!

I hope this helps:

Imagine you laptop is a book and in your book is full of pages that you have written ok
Now a post is like a letter that you write and send from your computer to the world ok
Two different thing but you can keep all the letter you have send in a folder called posts on your laptop ok
All there are kept in different places on your website
Took me two weeks to understand!!!

hey Maddie! I have no idea... I just signed up last week.

Thank you guys! I figured it out. My site looks cleaned up. I deleted all of the pages I had made and changed them into categories. I also assigned some of my posts to these categories, making them appear in my submenu options. And now I don't have a list of every page I made on the side of my site! Thanks again. :)

You are a smart lady my dear. I've been struggling with the same thing. I was hoping a class would cover this topic. I don't know how you did it, but I'll figure it out.

thank you for posting this, i have been trying to figure this out for a few days. this helped immensely!

Hello Maddie. Depending on your Wodpress theme, sometimes your posts will be posted to your front page by default. But you can create a page for your posts other than your home page.
If you want to say create a page called "my blog" and have all your posts go to that page, you would simply go and create a page with that name and then go to settings on the left of the Wordpress panel and then select "reading". Under the reading settings you can change which page your posts are sent to. So in our example you would change the front page to a static page. And then change the posts page to "my blog".

Hope that helps. Give me a shout if you need any more assistance.

Cheers,

Andrew

You can't a post and a page are completely different. You can add a link from a page to a blog post but you cannot add a post to a page.

Pages can be visable by added a link to the page in your menue or your sidebar or even your footer. You could even do that for a post as well if you wanted to.

The post would show on your blogroll and lets say you want people to have access to this post with out searching for it. You can add a link just like you would for a page in your menu, sidebar or footer.

I did a detailed post about this Hope this helps

Social Engagement & Marketing

I've left comments on some websites and have shared the WA link on my facebook and some of my friends' facebook pages. But I'm wondering what has worked for you? I have peopl

Hey Maddie i've had some success with direct PPC/bingads targeting WA. Ran a trial campaign and got about 5 referrals per week. I had a fairly low budget set though. Definitely let us know if you have success with something in particular

I have joined 4 FB-groups where you can marketing your business, put commercial and where entrepreneurs searching other entrepreneurs.
Has, at least, gain some clicks so far :)
Once a week I put some wa-link with some short content.

Having good content, sharing with social media on a regular basis even join a forum, you could also try a small paid advert campaign

Giving value to your audience is the best approach as oppose to just sharing your affiliate links. That include social media as well. Facebook groups you will find more engaging. Lear about it here. Hope that helps.

Hi Madeline, I think you hit the point everybody is trying to make here. There are a lot of tactics and all of them work different for every one. However talking about social media regarding what you say about FB, my opinion is this platform is that: 'very social' but not getting a high response in terms of buying something. I would say Twitter if worked well is by far better than FB in terms of getting costumers to your site. You have to devote some time to get very targeted followers but when you have done that the traffic you can lead to your sites is prone to buy because they are looking what you are offering, what do you think?

Some people are great at pushing their products to friends, family, coworkers, and associates. I'm awful, as I always feel like I'm imposing. One of the things I like about WA is it's not about pushing products on people (at least I haven't noticed it in the courses I've taken this far). Instead, it's about providing good content and using good keywords, and letting those features to draw crowds to you. The idea is to draw enough of a crowd that a certain percentage will convert (make a purchase or click on the link).

If you go around leaving links on everyone's website, it might be viewed as spam.

The best way is to establish a friendship first on FB and then pull them aside letting them know you are appreciate certain qualities they possess and are curious if they may want a side project that won't take away from their job, motherhood etc. If they say no, ask who they know who may be interested. That is an example of many ways. Not sure what your project is. If you want more elaboration, pls give more info as to the type of business. Hope I understood you and hope this helps. If not, let me know. Okay?

I have a recipe page on my main menu, but I want people to scroll over that and have different categories to choose from within that page.

Thank you everyone, I figured it out! Appreciate all the help. :)

Well done

Here is a very simple method:

https://youtu.be/W2Q-ZTR4gcM

Just a couple of clicks.

Thank you so much for this. I'm saving this info!

Bert's recommend to Nathan's video is very good.

To make the sub menu yo have to move the bar a little bit to the right
Under your main menu and you will see a dotted out line appear and you drop it there so that is your sob menu

Hi Maddie, If you want to have subpages under main pages you do that by going to pages> apearence>menue. There you will find your pages in a box on the left and you can add pages to the menu bars on the right. You move them into the order you want by dragging them into position.
Subpages are a little right and under the main page. you can even have sub sub pages. Don't forget to save and that will come out that way on your header.
I hope this helps.
