Youtube Rocks!
I've been publishing more videos now since I saw that I am earning a few cents from Youtube videos.
I have done a bit of research now on how to better SEO my videos and I must say that I am having a load of fun now.
I am also really excited, here's my timeline so far.
24 March: Monetized Youtube Channel
27 March: total of $0.05 earned and I had 8 videos on my channel
31 March : total of $.017 earned and no new videos added at this time
04 April: total of $0.34 earned and one new video was added 03 April (total of 9 videos)
05 April: total of $0.49 earned and added 2 videos 04/04 and 1 video today (total of 12 videos)
A good few of my videos are ranking on page one of Youtube.
I am still not quite sure exactly how this works but I am doing the following:
1) Making a Youtube cover in Canva
2) Filming the video using Screen O Cast Matic and uploading directly to Youtube
3) Adding the title, description and tags in a specific way
4) Sharing it on Reddit, Digg, and all my other social networks when published (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google Plus, LinkedIn)
5) Pinging it in Pingoat
6) Sharing in a few groups on Facebook
7) Embedding it into a post (either a new one or updating an old one)
I found a website that said you earn approximately $1 something to $3 per 1000 views on Youtube, and you can enter your views and it will give you an approximate earning amount. However my earnings are much more than this. My views are much lower, only 381 for the last 28 days and I only monetized just over a week ago.
So that website is obviously wrong. I then did some more searching and I found an explanation that it is NOT based on the amount of views. Some ads are pay per view, others are pay per click... so it is impossible to work out how much you will be paid. Also some ads must be viewed for a certain amount of time first before you get paid something so it really isn't a sure thing to predict how this will work.
The other thing that comes into it is that certain keywords are more profitable than others, or so I read. So some videos are more appealing to advertisers because of the keywords.
It all still seems very confusing to me, but I am getting a clearer idea of how things work. I am also getting a better idea of what video topics are earning and what aren't...
Not long and I will have this all figured out so I can share some awesome training!
In the mean time I am just filming like crazy and publishing... we'll see what happens!

I've had very good success with YouTube and plan to use it a lot more in the coming months. Sounds like you're on your way :) Good luck Lynne!
Keywords are essential I belive. Be sure to title the raw video with your keyword before posting to YouTube.
Put a link to your site in your description. Put it up front, before you describe the video.
When you find a good Keyword (one with a low QSR) go to YouTube and plug in that keyword and see what videos come up. Good chance no one will have a video with that exact keyword and you'll rank high on YouTube.
I believe YouTube is becoming the new Google. I personally search YouTube a lot because I like to see visuals more so than having to read. YouTube is still an untapped platform that we all have an opportunity to take advantage of while its still "new."
Yes I read about that. I was uploading directly from Screen Cast O Matic which was really cool because it was so quick but then the video is a number or something which is not good. Now I am saving the video and uploading myself which takes some rime.
Yes I've heard that Youtube is in a huge upward trend! That is why I am making an effort there.
