No Green Padlock when changing to SSL? Here's how to check why!
Oh thank you so much to Andrew - I have finally made the time to activate my SSL on my two websites hosted here. I watched Jay's training and off I was ready to go... but my websites would not show the green padlock.
I checked my banners, I went through my plugins deactivating them one by one.. but nothing worked. Then I did a little search here and I came across Andrew's post!
How simple, all I did was enter my website URL into this website: https://www.whynopadlock.com
It took about 30 seconds and it told me 2 images of mine in my About widget were http and I had to change them to https. I quickly changed it and I have my green padlock!
Thanks for sharing this, brilliant! And I am sharing it all with you too just in case you are also struggling!

Did you check your home page for anything that could be wrong like in Jay's training? Right click on your home page and then click on "inspect", then choose "console.
Have a look there are see what could be causing the problem?
Just so you know, all of mine were images that I had embedded that were still http. I had images in my "about me" widget that were http. Plus strangely enough my aweber subscribe form in my sidebar also had http and I had to change that subscribe form in my aweber settings!
Good luck!
