2016 OMG what a Year!
I am so happy and feeling so blessed to have had such an amazing year.
2016 has to be without a doubt one of the best years of my life!
It started off really rocky with me struggling with my online store after some serious setbacks and I asked for help from WA:

And then it hit me one morning. Why am I struggling so much? I work so hard and I mustn't fight with something like this.
So I took a leap of faith and I did something crazy, I just closed my online stores! It was such a liberating yet scary experience.

And these choices made such an incredible and amazing impact on my life. When I told my kids I was not going to leave them sitting in playschool until 5pm every day anymore, I cannot even begin to tell you how mind-blowing that moment was!

In the last year I just shut down my main source of income and decided to have absolute faith in myself and to focus on the things that make me happy.
I have grown as a person and I have found a new level of peace and happiness.
Where before I had to fight for everything I had, for every little cent I needed it was a battle. Yes I made it work, but I had to force it.
In the last few months I have started to see how everything slots into place and I can make money online in so many different and exciting ways.
I have written and sold a digital product, I have been paid by Google Adsense, my Youtube videos are bringing in income, I am being paid to publish guest posts on my websites, I am being paid ridiculous amounts of money to promote things on social media.... I got paid $230 to do one campaign where I sent out 3 Facebook posts and 3 tweets. Like OMG right?
If I had all the time in the world I would be making millions, but the thing is that success is NOT actually measured in buckets of money. It is measured in quality of life too and there needs to be a balance there.
2016 has been for me a year of taking a leap of faith, of learning, of growing both my business and myself.
I know exactly what to do now, and things are on a roll. I have worked my butt off in the last few years.
Now 2017 is going to be a time to slow down a little, to play more with my children, to rest a bit and to have fun.
What I would like everyone here at WA to take from this is that if you work hard now it will pay off for you. Every little thing you do now is building your foundation for the future.
You may not get any money right now, but with every word you write on your website you are building it up stronger.
Stay focused on that, stay focused on the long term and work for what you want. Never ever give up.
And use this community here at WA because this community has supported me and encouraged me every single step of the way. If you look through my posts from a year back you will see that I was also frustrated and I was also struggling so much.
I find it so funny that so often people ask me how come it comes easy to me.
I'm sorry WTF? I worked so hard you have no idea how much blood, sweat and tears has gone into getting to where I am now.
Never look at someone that has found success and think it has fallen in their lap or that they are "lucky".
Yes some people win the lottery and millions fall into their lap... but for everyone else they have worked for every single thing that they have.
It you want what I have, work for it and it will be yours.

This post is so inspiring for me because 2017 is the year that I strive to jump out of my comfort zone and put more faith in my abilities to do better. I understand the mixed emotions you must have felt when you closed those stores because I'm about to make a similar move. I'm going to seriously scale back on my writing business that has paid my bills for more than a decade in order to branch out into new directions. It's scary and liberating all at once, but it has to be done! I'm to the point that I can only work harder and harder, longer and longer hours, to keep this business going. I want to write for myself rather than others, and WA is going to give me the opportunity to really do it. This is the year that my clients no longer control my days and that I do something for myself.
I'm so glad to read that someone else has made this leap and survived with a smile. I hope that it works out as well for me this year! I'll be following you to watch you shine even brighter this year.
Oh my gosh yes!! I am a paid content creator for 5 websites too, and it has been really nice pay too. That was offered to me this year and it has helped to pay the bills. It was such a relief to me, but then I didn't have enough time and energy left for my work.
Then I got thinking right, if someone is paying me $0.04 per word I type on their website how much is my writing really worth? I decided to then bite the bullet and stop writing so much there and put that same energy into my own websites and you should see how things exploded my side.
I don't have any regrets though as each experience I have teaches me so much and makes me a better writer and a better online marketer.
If you have been writing for others, you will absolutely fly at this, so I will be your cheerleader and tell you to run with it!
I have decided that I have put enough effort into building up other people's businesses and websites. No more!
I would rather go hungry for a little while and put that effort into my business.
