Theme question

I've been having trouble with my theme lately, It's been doing all kinds of strange things.

It won't let me add featured images even though it supports them. Every once in a while it gets the idea to add the featured image into my website banner instead of next to my articles. Like I said it's been kind of screwy lately.

I've tried the theme forums, but didn't find any help there for this issue. Does anyone know who the theme developer for twenty ten is and where I can reach them? Or maybe someone knows how to fix this issue in our community without having to change themes. I'd really rather not have to change themes if I can help it.

Thanks, everyone for all your useful comments.

I figured my issue out. I went back to where the theme was added as a new theme and read what they said about what features it offered. Here is what it said. You can even use a different custom header image for each post by including a Featured Image when you publish a new post.

This is what their featured images do, instead of putting it next to the post.
That solves my problem.

Swell! Lynne!
Thanks for asking!

Twenty Ten is a theme developed by wordpress.org and is already 10 years old. https://wordpress.org/support/theme/twentyten/

Perhaps you should consider a more modern theme.

That being said, it may be a plugin that is causing the problems rather than the theme itself. Deactivate all your plugins and check if the problems persist. Then you can reactivate them one at a time to see which one is causing the issue.

Thanks, Marion.
I did try Wordpress support and it didn't help.

I was hoping there was a customer service site I could talk to, but seeing as it's an older theme I know there isn't one.

I will have to try another theme. Heavy sigh. I was hoping I didn't have to change as I really like the way this theme looks and what it offers.

Did you check the plugins?

No, not yet. But I did find this.

Hi, Lynne!
I'd search Jay's training for theme questions. There are some that are unfriendly and not recommended.
I'm sure you'll get some good answers here, as well.
I'm still checking on THE one, and I can change it.
Thanks for asking.
Best!
Barb

Thanks, Barb

Hi Lynne,
Unfortunately I have found out there is not too much support if you are using a free theme.

I did go to theme's and I looked at the details of the 2010 theme, seems it has a lot to offer but I feel it may be a bit outdated. There is the 2020 theme out now but I can understand you not wanting to change themes.

I would contact site support first. If not I will back up my site and switch to a different theme if you do not like it you can go back to the 2010 theme you are using.

I have found patience plays a big role when it comes to site problems. Hopefully site support will give the necessary assistance you need.

Wishing you all the best,
Michael

Thanks, Michael.
You're right not much support for an older theme.
I guess I'll have to start searching for a new one. I hope I can find one that offers everything that 20 10 offers and more, but that might be just wishful thinking.

Hi Lynne,
You will find the right theme that works for you. I am confidant about that.

All the best,
Michael
