Check the Certification Courses (on the left) Level 2 Lesson 9 and you'll get the great training. Best wishes to you!!!

I have been following the training to the letter. I literally do not have the field to add the Google plus use on my WordPress users page. In the training kyle 's edit user page shows under the name and website fields there is a field to enter your Google plus url I don't have it is just a blank space. I don't know what to do. I added my website to my Google plus page but when I checked the rich snippets tool it said they were not linked.

Have you tried to fill it in on All in one SEO - general - at Google settings?

I decided to rename one of my pages on my site. I thought I did it correctly but everytime I click on it I get an 404 error message. what did I do wrong?

Can I ask if you opened the page and just typed in the new title and hit update.?

Yes Jeff I did but I also changed the permalink to the new title was that not the right thing to do?

It should make the permalink for you when you type in the new title. if you want to share a shorter version then hit you get a short link and share that. I leave what they created alone. and it works for me.

Try to test the page and let me know if it works for you too. J B

Thanks Jeff I was able to change the permalink back to the original page name and it fix the error

its always feels good to fix whats ailing you. Have a great day J B

see Matt has explained it to you hope you have resolved it

When you updated your title of the page, your permalink to your page may have changed with it. For example: if your page permalink was "http://dogtrainingtips.com/how-to-pat-a-dog/" and the page title was "How To Pat A Dog", and then you changed the page title to "How To Give Your Dog A Scratch", your permalink may automatically change to "http://dogtrainingtips.com/how-to-give-your-dog-a-scratch/". Hence why your links may not be working anymore.

There is an easy fix: if you go into edit your page, right under the Page Title, the permalink is found there. Simply click the edit button, and change it to what you had before.

Or, you could simply update the links on your site to the new link that wordpress generated when you changed the heading of the page.

But, just to keep everything super-simple, I recommend the first option.

Hope that helps. :)

That's what I would do. Thanks Matt!

Thanks Matt I am going to try that fix right now!

Thanks again Matt I was able to change the permalink back to the original page name and it fix the page error, your awesome!

You're most welcome! I'm glad I could help you out :)

Did you delete the first entry? If so it might have gotten rid of the whole page and not just the title. If not, did you hit the update button after the change? Or you might try and go to the page on your site and hit the "refresh" button.

Did you change your theme or your html, what does your changed html look like?

Authoring & Writing Content

Hey all! I have been hard at work trying to build out my website with great content. I have a ton of ideas but I'm not sure if I'm taking the right approach. So far I have been

Here is a tutorial that I think will really help you out here Tara.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-efficiently-architect-and-write-your-content

One thing I also want you to remember when creating your content is that you are creating content for real people. So many people lose sight of this and it only leads to boring and "un"engaging content.

So focus on your readers and provide them with an interesting and engaging experience.

And don't try to perfect everything before your publish it. Your audience will be the biggest gauge of whether or not the content is well received, so don't drive yourself crazy trying to make your content perfect before you see it.

If you ever want feedback on any page or post you create after you have published it, post it here:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/website-feedback

This is our website feedback system that is so helpful and will give you community feedback on your content. What better way to get help than to get feedback from others. :)

I did get overwhelmed, so many ideas I didn't know where to start. My method is writing down the ideas as they come to me but continue to work on the current topic. This way I don't fret about forgetting things and can focus better. I agree with everyone else, finish a topic before starting the next.
I love your niche, your site is looking good. I have many crystals in my home and use them on poorly house plants, I rarely have a plant die and have some over 30yrs old! :)

Hi Luv2bfree, I would be finishing page at a time otherwise you will have tons of projects unfinished and your thoughts will be everywhere. Just follow through each tutorial do the task required and before you know it you will have the work finished without even realizing it.

I would complete one page at a time, which would all relate to your niche. Enjoy

I would suggest maybe revisiting the tutorials on developing content! And I agree with Ken, complete one page at a time.

Hello,
I can relate to your points, regarding content writing. What I do and has helped, is go to live viedos and view jays instruction viedos on this subject of content writing,he even has one on live writing from stracth.Don

where can I find jays instruction video?

Hi luv2
On the left of your wa page you will see on the side bar "live viedo classes" this is where the vids are,you can type content and the viedo will come up. Don

Have you been following the training and what pages are compared to post pages? Just thought I would ask if you have the whole concept down of the difference between them....can be a bit confusing depending on what your site is about and how you are setting it up. :))

This is a very good question! I'm gonna have to think about that I thought I was following the training pretty well, if you wanna take a look let me know what you think? theeverydaypagan.com

Looks good so far, keep working on content for your pages and then you look like you started creating post/pages which would be your blog roll, it looks like you are doing a pretty good job so far...I would put more info on your pages and then keep writing post for your blog roll which is what it looks like you have started in your right sidebar.

I always do one subject per post and if the subject has more than one point, you can always expand on the other(s) in a new post/page. And as Mr. Pringle says, you can always edit later.

Try to complete one page at a time you can
always go back and add more or edit later.
Focus is important and that is hard to do
when writing more than one page at a time.

Yes focus seems to be hard at this point like I said I have so many great Ideas! Do you think not completing a page will hurt me as far as getting ranked?

Yes, you need plenty of good content on each page to get ranked.

Hi Ken! I have a question concerning google indexing and ranking. I have chosen a niche and have some domain name ideas if they are available. After watching the Build your website video, I am stalled in acting on it due to this question: If I build my site without content-ready pages, does that hurt google index/ranking? It seems that is what the video tutorials are instructing us to do. But it feels like we should have some content ready to go first. Google indexing an empty site while I build content which may take a few days seems backwards to me, but maybe I am missing something. Thanks in advance for any clarification you can offer.

Linda, I agree you should have good content before publishing.
The training is correct however because Google will come back
and see that you are improving. That is good.
You can go to Dashboard, Settings, Reading scroll down and you will see "Discourage search engines from indexing this site", check that box untill you are ready to publish. I hope this helps.

awesome, ken! so doing that will not affect rankings or indexing negatively?

No, you will be fine Linda.

Hi. I personally would finish a page before moving on to another topic, it would just be easier for me. Would you mind sharing your URL so I can see what you're up to? :) Michelle

Sure! its theeverydaypagan.com thanks for reveiwing!
