Two Sick Women

In today's world, it is often said: "Since I have health and strength, I have nothing to worry about."

There are those who accept whatever life dishes out while there are others who are in denial.

I remember a lady named Martha who was suffering from Tinnitus among other complaints. She was always complaining and asking for prayers.

Then came the time when she was suffering from insomnia, she thought she was dying and wanted divine intervention because her world was falling apart.

Martha was new to the community and started attending the local church mainly because the church provided transportation. While at the church she asked to speak to the Transportation Coordination and she was introduced to Mary.

Mary was blind and in charge of transportation, she was also the choir director. Mary's feet were swollen she could barely walk but she refused to use a wheelchair.

One morning Martha and I went to church we saw Mary, she was sitting near to the entrance. Martha said hi to Mary and asked her how she was. "Oh! I am doing great" Mary said. This woman who was blind, suffering from bronchial problems, unable to move about responded that she was doing great.

Martha said she would never complain again. She learned that there were others less fortunate than she was. Sometimes when we think we are going through hard times we see others who are worse than we are.

Mary could not manage anymore and had to be sent to a nursing home. She still did not complain although we could hear her wheezing when we visit her.

She died a few weeks later and Martha says she has learned a lot from her.

Yes , everyday we should be thanking our Lord , and being grateful for everything we have. There are so many people out there less fortunate as us .
May our Lord bless them all ...and the Angel guide and support them .

Amen
