One of the great things I've found here at WA is that all the content is regularly updated to keep up with the changes made to Google's search algorithms and SEO best practices.

Luisten here is certification course if you want to watch tutorials again in the left menu :) and Activity dashboard, live video classes all are in left menu :)

Hi Manchini. Thanks for your reply. I'm aware that the certification course is listed in the menu to the left. My question was if there is a quick way to know if any of the lessons or videos have been updated without having to go through the entire material again.

I think the WA will inform you of this :)

Is there a central page on wa that lists updated material?

I wanted to get another public opinion going on here on what everyone thinks is a proper amount of affiliate links on one page. I have some pages that have up to 20 affiliate links

I'm having trouble with this too. Also is it ok, for ranking purposes, to promote several different products on our page, or should we only stick to one?

That's waaaay too many. I was once told that my 3 links were pushing it.

Let me ask you this do you like that pushy car salesman following you around or do you like to look around and make your own decision.
About 4or5 is good.

I completely agree with you. It's awful to have an overzealous salesperson behind you and I get that it makes for a terrible user experience online. However, my question was more focused on what Google thinks of this and what they deem as being too many.
In the example in my question I have 20 affiliate links but almost 3/4 of them are all grouped at the bottom as a sort of catalog for different designs of the same product. I was just wondering if this approach would be penalized by search engines.

They would most likely see it as s sales page and not a informative content page. If all of these helmets that you have on here coming from the same affiliate account you would be better off just having one link, because if they click on it no matter which one they choose to buy you will get commission due to your link brought them there. You can put the pictures on there but do not link them to anything just click on none so google does not crawl them.

Hey Tommy, thanks for your reply. If I'm using a redirect like Pretty Link, does Google also recognize that as affiliate linking? Either way I'll avoid doing this link overloading in the future. Thank you for your advice.

It is much cleaner but still a link and will be noticed as a lick because redirects people. I use tinyurl to protect my affiliate links instead of prettylink just my preference

How does that work? How does tinyurl work and how do you know when to use it? I've seen it but have no idea what to do with it.

You copy the URL you want to shorten and paste it in the blank field in tinyurl and it creates a new shorter cloaked URL.

I personally go for around 5 or 6 depending on my article and the purpose for the article. Your page looks alright though and I like what you did with the helmets at the bottom.

I had my doubts about leaving my site's URL when entering comments on other sites, especially ones that are unrelated to the content on my own. I know that there have been very rec

Yes but try to leave comments on sites that is relevant to your site for back links.

Thanks for bringing this up. I was just thinking about this same thing as I was reading something about bad back links. I'm interested to know more. Also is there anyway to remove any back links that are currently pointing at your website?

There is! Google has a little secret tool in within the Webmaster Tools: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/disavow-links-main
The issue is that you need to have a list of all the links or domains that you want to disavow. The issue is that it might not have an effect on your rankings until the next Google algorithm update.

Thanks! I will have to check out that tool

These days I will only leave a comment on a website if the site is in the same niche as mine and leave it up to the site owner whether to publish it.

I have no problem with WA members including their site URL when commenting on my site no matter what niche they are in. I always approve them. However, I only allow a link to be inserted in the text comment area for those who already have the qualifying number of approved comments on my site. I have a filter that checks for this.

Thanks for your feedback, Jude. What's the reasoning behind your decision to comment only on sites in your same niche? I'm sure it's SEO-related but how did you come about to making this choice? I'm very interested in knowing.

As for the filter that checks for those restrictions, is this a plugin that you installed on Wordpress? What's it called? It seems like a good strategy.
Thanks again!

I'm happy to give feedback within WA on any site and any niche.

As to comments on websites with different niches, I didn't think it was fair of me to not allow links when the other site owners allowed my link and I ended up with too many back links in unrelated niches.

I use the CommentLuv Premium plugin and it includes those filters.
