It was always going to happen. I have tried a few different programs that promised the world and I think the people who got the world were the ones who owned the programs. Not that they didn't work hard, the systems were just a bit limiting and it was easy to get sidetracked. There also wasn't a community, which I feel is one of the defining elements of this program.

In relation to that, I have just added my connections, Twitter etc to my profile. I will endeavour to follow everyone who follows me, on their social media. I haven't added Facebook at this stage because I use it mostly for family and people I know and I often forget to post things as family only. I do have a page (sadly neglected) for my music and once I start posting on there regularly, which I will need to do to support my Guitar Love website that I am developing here, then I will also share that link.

I gather that there are a lot of musicians in this network and I am particularly keen to connect with them and in fact anyone who loves music, writes songs, has family or friends that are musical.

I've had a long journey to get here and will share more of it as I get to know you.

There does seem to be a common thread that I read in your profiles, that gores something like this, with variables:

Got educated

Got a job, it was OK

Had some great successes, maybe working for a boss

Ended up with job that paid well or OK, but there were elements you didn't like

Had some sort of drama or catastrophe in your life. I've had many:

  • I got made redundant from a great job when the company I worked for was embezelled by the President. He and his wife traveled around the world first class on MY company Gold credit card for which I was "jointly and severally liable" and even though I was an employee (Sales Manager), he was declared bankrupt and I ended up owing the bank $35,000. My lawyer had just lost a similar case and I had to refinance my house, even though the debt was his.
  • I got a job full of promises that went nowhere.
  • I got an awesome job that I absolutely loved and was doing amazing at. The company got sold and those on high incomes were all made redundant irrespective of performance. I got made redundant.
  • I had another great job that I loved. The company got sold twice. The first time there was no change, the second, all the buyer wanted was the assets and the IP. Redundant again
  • I got into a really exciting startup with a couple of guys that was bleeding edge in the area of augmented reality. Unfortunately while the concept could have made us millionaires, the partners were a bad fit. I spent a year with them and all of my superannuation and had to leave, recognising that it wouldn't work.
  • I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had to go through some nasty treatments, radiation and chemicals. All good, I'm in remission now.
  • A year ago I hurt my back, 2 totally herniated disks bulging against nerves and one higher up that is also pushing against nerves. I have been off work for a year and am working 6 hours a week. I have income protection insurance, but really want to be back in my job. I don't know how much longer my employer will keep it for me and I am at an age where getting another job will be tough.

Starting with getting cancer, I thought, this is my rock bottom and I need to turn it into something really positive. I wrote some great songs about it, bought a 1999 Corvette, traveled to Europe, Australia and Samoa and started thinking about what next.

I got a great idea. It was creating a course for first home buyers. In New Zealand where I live, there are almost no buyers agents, houses are very expensive and young people have everything up against them. So I wrote a book for first home buyers, published it on Amazon, created a mailing list, did blogs and marketing and came to the realisation that my demographic doesn't read books. So I started putting it into YouTube Videos which I am 3/4 of the way through. I decided to also put it on Audible, mostly because it is a cool marketing concept and they pay really good affiliate money for new subscribers. I was going to create a course but I now realise it will be unprofitable unless I got a sale to a massive real estate firm of bulk copies and even if I did, it would be a once only sale.

So here I am. I've been down, picked myself up loads of times, but I am wanting to build my real success story and I am to use all of my experience, which includes following proven step by step examples as well as my other interest and passion which will fill my niche which is playing guitar, writing and performing original songs and music and gadgets

This is a book more than a blog so I am going to stop here. I am really looking forward to connecting with you. I will endeavour to follow everyone who follows me, not only here, but also on your social media and hope you will do the same on the links below to the right.

Let's do this thing!.
