Hi - not sure who you are addressing this to, but your question has been posted in the getting started classroom.
It is best to start with a narrow niche, for less competition, plus you wish to be seen as an authority on a particular subject, not as somebody who "dabbles" in lots of things.
You don't want to confuse your visitors either. For example, if I visit your site to read about fitness, and half of your articles are about crafts, I would soon leave, and then you have lost a potential customer.
The top three most popular niches, which have the most competition and are therefore more difficult to rank highly in, are health, love/romance/sex and making money.
thank you so much for the feedback. I was just listing the three different niches I was interested in. Crafts, staying fit at 50 and interior design...Is crafts too broad or should I narrow that down as well?
Hi - same principle again really. For example, I genuinely enjoy card making and all kinds of paper crafts but have no interest in embroidery or painting.
You need to hit a kind of middle ground. Make sure the niche is narrow enough to have less competition and a more targeted audience, but still broad enough to have enough scope for writing lots of articles on it. Not easy is it?
