Hey everyone

I please need some advise on how to place an Amazon Native Shopping ad into my websites side bar? Really struggling at the moment.

What I have done t

Hi there,

In your dashboard, go to "Widgets" under "Appearance". You'll see your sidebars over to the right. Find the tab to the left that says "Text". Drag it over to your sidebar. A window will pop open that has a "content" area. Paste your code into it and click "SAVE".

Shannon

You can also drag that "Text" box up or down to reposition it in your side bar. Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

Hey Shannon

Thank you for the reply, but unfortunately I have tried that with no succes, that is why I opted to install the WordPress Ad widget plugin.

Thanks

Is it a brand new ad? It takes several minutes and up to an hour for a new ad to start showing. You may see a dot or something. Try it and wait a while.

Yes it's a new ad (custom ad). Thank you for the advise, will wait and see what happens.

to add it to the sidebar u need to go to widgets and select a text box option. Then add the text box to the widget sidebar, just drag and drop it. U then copy the code into the content box, no need for a title, save, update and u r done. hope this helps.

Hey there

Whats your opinion on writing content first and then putting in keywords afterwads? Will this influence my google ranking?

Looking forward hearing from

I always find key words first. I find placing them where I want them easier to write naturally.

This may go against the grain (I live in Oregon where the salmon swim upstream) of what they teach at WA, but I don't think there are any absolutes on this issue. It is probably best to find the keywords first, but at times I have just written content and then found the appropriate keywords.

My opinion would be it is more productive to use a process...Here is what I do...

(1) First look for keywords that you can compete in using the keyword tools here or elsewhere.

(2) Plan for a series of blog posts based on these.

(3) Gather supporting materials to include images, videos, other graphics,

(4) Record supporting sites and content that you can cite for your position as you create the relevant content to your keywords.

(5) You could even go so far as to create draft blog post pages ahead of time and go out as far as you feel comfortable with...

(6) Once all that is in place, carve out a bit of time every day to work on your blogs...

(7) If you are new to blogging or writing such content, use a checklist (Loes has a good one here you can use) as you write...

(8) Depending on the amount of time you can use for blogging, break the creation process into a number of days, say 2-3 per post (if you can only do 30 minutes a day), or less if you have more time...

(9) What you have is a system, and this helps you publish content on a regular schedule...

(10) It also allows for a more orderly process for all your content and better results likely as you get used to your system....

(11) That order brings a stress relief for you, as you find you are not feeling like you are always behind, reacting rather than being proactive...

(12) Another advantage is that you will be able to keep posts flowing even if some kind of emergency or situation arises (as it will) when you cannot get to your blog...

(13) Over time, you will find more ways to make the process flow better, your writing will get better, and your results on the other end (traffic, leads, and conversions) will improve...

(14) You can also shape your blog to always focus on the main thrust of your business goals, because you have taken charge...

Lots of benefits, think this through and use whatever you can for your own program...Best of luck!

Cheers!
Dave : )

Hey Dave

Thank you for the great advise.

I have seen the majority recommend against because you end up writing the entire post again.

On the other hand, I do it myself! And I have seen others do it too.

I would ask you to try both and do what you are feeling comfortable.

Hey Gautam

Thank you for the advise.

Bu doing that, you are really making a pretty good mess, depending on the keywords/phrases.

You write AROUND the keywords in a natural way..

Yes, you could do it, but I do not recommend it!

Hey there,

The way you're proposing is how I create my content but I do it in a word or notepad document before posting on my website.

It's easy just to go ahead and create content 'as if you were talking' to a friend and then after that I go back through the content and put in my keywords.

Once my keywords are placed I get my affiliate links ready to put in as well as finding suitable images.

Only then do I create my post or page on my website. I usually leave it in 'draft' until I'm satisfied - this whole process can take a couple of hours, but sometimes it can take a day or so. It all depends on the amount of research I have to do, if it's a subject I'm not 100% knowledgeable about.

Hope this helps,

All the best with your WA journey,

Cheers,

Jacqueline

PS. I'm not sure about how your google rankings are affected if you do it a bit at a time, I would rather complete the task and then publish, that's just how I find it works better for me.

Cheers!

Hey JaquelineS1

Thank you for the great advise.

I don't think you fully understand the concept of keywords.

You find great keywords / keyword phrases and incorporate them into your article or blog so they become part of your content.

For example if you want to use a great keyword for - making money online with your own home based business website - then build a sentence or paragraph round it and make it relevant.
They must make sense.

Hey Marion

Thank you for the video on WP, it was really helpful.

Thank you I have a problem with the home page and I do not want home so I guess I will go for the static front page. I am much more comfortable with this.

If you want a menu item that is called home, you will put in a custom link that has just your URL in it.
