So Close I Can Almost Taste It

Today is 7 February and detox started on 19 January. Affiliate Bootcamp Training recommences on 12 February. Fasting ends on Sunday 10 February. 21 Day Challenge has only another 5 days to go. Counting down the days is exciting ... everything is getting So Close I can Almost Taste It ...

Detox

This has been quite a journey, I wish I could say it was painless but anyone who has followed my blogs will know that the initial stages were pretty horrendous! If you are interested, you can read about that here - it made some people laugh, not at me but with me - you know who you are ;-)

How are things right now - 20 days in?

I am hardly thinking about coffee at all now. Taking great enjoyment in Rooibos tea - plain and flavoured (I have a thing for watermelon and mint and pomegranate and cranberry); Green tea - also plain and flavoured (mint, apple, ginger - all delicious! I do believe this could be an acquired taste though)

There is no desire to eat pasta, bread or any processed food, not even chocolate! Now that is saying something huge!

Only 12 days to go til 19 February when detox comes to an end. I am no longer planning a huge celebration of delicious creamy coffee and chocolate cake - though that may still happen, the coffee at least! Rather, I am considering my options - should I even drink coffee anymore if it made me feel so bad to come off it? To be fair, coffee is not the only thing I stopped, milk came to a grinding halt too.

When I look back, what have I not consumed since starting detox?

  • Coffee
  • Tea (caffeinated)
  • Milk
  • Bread
  • Pasta
  • Chocolate
  • Cake
  • Sweets

What have I consumed:

  • Fruit
  • Vegetables
  • Nuts
  • Meat (when I not fasting)
  • Rooibos and Green Teas
  • Fruit Juice
  • Water

Getting back to the coffee. The plan, at this stage, is to indulge in coffee as a treat rather than daily fair - perhaps I can reward myself with a hot steaming cuppucino at my favourite Argintinean Cafe after a park run (walk in my case) on a Saturday morning. That sounds like a plan

Fasting

Since Sunday night I have been fasting. One would think there is nothing to fast once you've already commenced detox. Surprisingly there is more than enough to refrain from - meat, fish, eggs, dairy (in all other forms but meat).

What do I eat whilst fasting?

  • Fruit
  • Vegetables
  • Legumes - chickpeas and lentils
  • Nuts
  • Rooibos and Green teas
  • Water

I am very happy that I started detox before the fast, this has allowed me to survive the coffee withdrawals before the full dairy withdrawals. Not being a big meat eater, 7 days without it is pretty easy. But cheese - hmmm, I do miss the cheese.

Why fast? This is a spiritual decision, as a church we are praying for specific things each day of the fast. When the hunger or craving for something outside of your fast hits, you spend time praying, even if it's quickly in your mind because you are still having to work and do your usual daily things. It's a way of denying self and focusing on our Heavenly Father.

Affiliate Bootcamp Training

Thankfully I recommence on 12 February, a mere 5 days away. I love the training here, it is truly addictive! All the growth and development, watching my hard work become something tangible (in the online sense, haha!). I simply love everything about the Affiliate Bootcamp training, the way it has been designed that we learn and build our businesses simultaneously. The pace is set at a rate that enables us to learn and stretch and grow, then rest (just a bit) and implement and apply everything we have learned. the breaks also teach us much about the important aspects of self-discipline and motivation. It is our online business to build, we need to take on that responsibility and take action, not wait to be guided into everything.

Much as I have missed Affiliate Bootcamp training, I am more than aware that there is more than enough other training to keep me busy! I have not watched as much other training as I thought I would - too busy researching for reviews and other website niceties like plugins, images (yes, my logo was born in this season too!) etc. I have come to the realization that a website, like a piece of art, never feels like it is complete! One day I hope to accept that too.

21 Day Challenge - You're On! - Only 5 Days Remain

This challenge was issued by our esteemed colleague, Fran Callado, if you haven't read his blogs, you are missing out. Have a look here at the original blog I responded to. Don't stop there though, Fran has much knowledge, wisdom and insight to share.

This has been a journey too, one where I have had to really apply myself consistently. This challenge is about discipline and consistency more than anything else. Interestingly, there has not been a single day so far that I have not wanted to write. But I have wrangled with what to write about, on more days than not. For the days were I have delivered sub-standard blogs, please accept my apologies I hope you have received some value from what I have written.

The community have been exceptionally kind in supporting and leaving comments on the articles - thank you, thank you.

Looking Back To Day 1 - 22 January

This has been an exceptionally busy 16 days, I cannot believe how much ground has been covered - and how much has happened! Just incredible. It's valuable to look back and see how far you have come.

For now, I am looking at how far I have to go:

  • 21 Day Challenge - today is day 16
  • 7 Day Fast - today is day 4
  • Affiliate Bootcamp - resume training on 12 February
  • Detox - 30 days completed on 17 February

Not wishing the time away at all, I enjoy and am grateful for each and every day of my life. I am loving building my online business, my hope and prayer is that all of this work will soon result in some leads and conversations. One step at a time.

But, I gotta say: All of this is now So Close I can Almost Taste It ...

Blessings as always
