Pearls To Share - Day 4

Wow! I am absolutely blown away today! My Daily Wisdom for Leaders book spoke about Persistence: the ultimate gauge of leadership. A lot of it is based on Nehemiah and the trials he faced. I couldn't write about this without bordering on breaking the WA rules of no religious blogs, so I looked for an area where I have been persistent to share some results. Oh boy, am I ever happy I did that. Let's have a look at Pearls To Share - Day 4.

A Recent Blog

On 29 January, I wrote a blog within WA entitled Allow Me To Encourage You - Never Ever Give Up, here is a quick screenshot. In this blog I spoke about some struggles and then went on to speak about my strategy to post consistently on social media so that I was still taking baby steps even.

Pinterest Is Still My New Best Friend

As you can see, Pinterest became my new best friend in January 2020, and has continued to be my best friend ever since! The screenshot below is taken from my blog on 29 January 2020:

Persistence Has Paid On Pinterest

I have persisted with the strategy of a monthly theme with posts and have shared them across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest and have just done a quick screenshot of Pinterest today. See below, the first one was taken on 29 January 2020 and the second today, 6 March 2020:

29 January 2020

I was very excited in January about the green numbers because the percentages are high - I still believe that is pretty impressive, especially considering I was not doing that much, literally i was posting once a day within a theme for the month.

In January, it was all around #NewBeginnings, February was #TheMonthOfLove (well, who would've guessed that!) and #LoveWhatYouDo #DoWhatYouLove.

6 March 2020

March also has a theme of course and I have posted consistently from January to date. Let's compare the numbers.

In January, I had 7.8K impression, as of today that number has grown to 45.8K impressions

In January the saves were 17 and today 65

Link clicks have moved from 11 in January to 45 today.

Percentages have dropped considerably, but are still in the positive numbers. My understanding of that is the percentages should have been massive in January because the consistent posting had been happening from the beginning of that month. From January to today, the consistency has remained at 1 post per day (very occasionally there has been more than one), so I don't think we can expect a big change in the percentages.

I am very happy with the impressions, saves and link clicks increasing the way they have, though the numbers are still not enormous (I mean, 45.8k saves and link clicks would be exceptional!), the increase is marked and something worth getting excited about.

Keep in mind, this is based on 1 post per day. Not a written blog which currently takes me hours to do, just a post put together in Canva and shared with a link to something appropriate.

I Am A Happy Camper

It is with very good reason that I am a happy camper, the above numbers were achieved with very little work on my part. Not because I did not have the desire to put the work in but because my eyesight challenges prevented me from spending hours on the screen.

I am delighted that the decision to persist has resulted in increased numbers. This has not happened across all the social media platforms I am posting on but a couple of interesting things have happened in the others too. Not quite as measurable, but they are signs of good things to come:

  • LinkedIn - my connection numbers have increased remarkably and even my family members are liking my posts. I have also been approached, complimented on what I am putting out (I am not a trained graphic designer, so this was great) and offered invitations for job interviews. Really important to me here is that people who know and love me have turned, have a look at my experience last year when I wrote this blog What The Frikkadel! Trust Is At An All Time Low! It has taken time, consistency and persistence.
  • Facebook - there is not a huge amount happening here that I can see but some shares have been made by people I am not connected to in any way, that has to be a good sign
  • Twitter - my posts are being shared and number of connections are growing

Pearls To Share - Day 4

Not only has the posting since January to date been consistent, I have also been persistent in posting.

Believe me when I say that by the end of February, I was completely over #FebruaryMonthOfLove and #LoveWhatYouDo #DoWhatYouLove - what kept me going? My bestie (real life human bestie) is a business coach for entrepreneurs and she recently spoke in a Facebook live about the importance of putting your message out there over and over and over. You may get sick and tired of it but your target market does not see it the same way. She is the reason I persisted.

Really great!!
It's so true!
Persistence is the only way to move forward that really pays off in the internet world. Without persisting in sharing information on social networks we would not have as much audience.
And you’re madly doing well in your business! You’ve got really good connection stats. It really makes me happy to see how far you have progressed.
We are all becoming geek on the internet! The longer we persist, the more comfortable we will be with anything that could intimidate us before WA.

Continue on the path to success, you are on a great ascension!
Friendly!!

Hello lovely Ingrid
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop, read and leave your feedback. It's always great to hear from you. Thank you also for your encouragement. I love the "geek on the internet" - yes, that is us, lol!

Many years ago, I went from a pretty bad place to a little better place. I decided it was time for major change. For reasons I wont go into, my credit was crap. I went through many trials, a lot of cleaning up after a marriage gone bad. I jumped through so many hoops I thought I was a circus performer. As I forged ahead, things began to happen for me. A brighter outlook, a better me. Career taking off at an amazing pace. My credit got better and better. There was a time when I couldn't finance a glass of water. That all changed. I bought a house!! Since then, it's been a pleasant journey. Thats my story of persistence..

Greg
