It's Getting Hot In This Kitchen!
Having been with Wealthy Affiliate for 5 and a half months, worked extremely hard - not only on WA, granted, I do hold down a number of jobs (we do what we have to until we can do what we want to!) - and I've not achieved one sale or referral yet. Man, it's getting hot in this kitchen!
Affiliate Marketing Takes Time
I know, I know (and not in the arrogant sense either :-)) Affiliate Marketing really does take time! Other WA members have secured sales in less time though, and this is really starting to frustrate me.
Ranting Is So Not My Thing
Yes, it's true - I try to avoid ranting as much as possible. Not because I don't have anything to rant about - I try not to focus on those things. So please excuse me for this little blog which could be construed as a rant. (How cute is this little ranter? :-))
Onward and Upward
I decided to blog a little about my why - and that is to create financial and geographical freedom and make a difference in the lives of others. To give myself time out I wrote two travel related articles for my blog. My website is an MMO site so that is not quite a perfect fit - however, it gave me time to think about what I will be doing with the freedom and that was awesome!
Recommendations & Suggestions Welcome
So that's my mini blog and mini rant for the day WA community. I know you are all wonderful people who are generous with their knowledge, please feel free to drop me any recommendations and suggestions to help me.
For now, I am just going to persevere - continue writing content, sharing on social media, following the training and participating in the community - even though, it's getting hot in this kitchen!

Louise any time you need to 'offload' I'm good listener but you have to speak up a little louder. Hard of hearing and mind tends to wander when can't hear well.
Keep in mind all goods things take time. Often I find the delay makes the reward even greater when it arrives. Just 'Keep On Keeping On' success will arrive when you least expect it (at least that is what I am claiming and hoping for like you)

I understand where you are. I have not either, but like Dave, it has gotten me referrals to help build several websites for brick and mortar stores, and also some other freelance opportunities. These have given me fresh ideas on building traffic etc.
Have you tried any Social Media? Your site has the icons, yet when I clicked on them they did not work. I have Facebook, and many others which is how I got the other business.
Keep moving forward. You have a nice looking website, yet traffic takes time. Those who have started making $$ early had a following or the money to advertise, or perhaps online before Wealthy Affiliate.

If this helps, I have been here a year and a bit and extended my membership till next January with the black Friday offer
I have got referrals, not one of them has upgraded to premium, the one that did upgrade then cancelled moaning about everything but the main problem (herself)
WA is paying me for training I have created which is a nice amount, but I chose the platform for blog hosting mainly so I could showcase the marketing system I use, which brings people to me from all over in the terms of appointments to speak with
It has also led to a football writing invite, which led that blog being seen at boardroom level with the Professional club concerned and that led to me being their writer of the week
Now I say this because blogging is a long term project which will pay off in time for sure
If you are sharing your blog with your connections someone will bite before long
In the short term it is frustrating but rewarding

That's good it takes time and the only key to consistently getting clients is by showing up daily and posting good content that attracts

Hi Louise, if your niche is 'make a difference in the lives of others' then this is too broad.
I'm not saying it is your niche, but by reading your notes above, that's all I can glean.
How exactly do you want to help them make a difference? With what? It's very noble to say such a thing but not so practical.

The making a difference part is something very close to my heart and I would like to attract my tribe with that being a part of my byline, more than the actually messaging.
The strongest part of the messaging is about creating financial and geographic freedom - i.e. the laptop lifestyle. I am doing that by writing reviews and articles all to do with MMO, on my site and sharing on social media.
When it comes to making a difference, that is not something I focus on in any way in my marketing but it is about showing others the way to making money online (WA) and also contributing part of the income I generate online to educating the less fortunate and no-kill animal shelters - I am only telling you that so that you know the answer now :-)

Louise, I'm very confused.
Do you mean your niche is about Massively Multiplayer Online? That's all I get when I search MMO. If that's right then you may not want to get off topic at all about travel. It will hurt your rankings.
Frankly I don't know what MMO has to do with the laptop lifestyle at all.
If your niche is WA, then the focus on WA. If your niche is MMO, then that's not about creating wealth. If your niche is educating the unfortunate, then that has nothing to do with WA but everything to do with finding teachers for that or selling materials for that. If your niche is about no-kill animal shelters, that's completely a different thing and I have no idea how you could monetize that. Travel, same thing -- but I guess that's just how you want to spend your money.
So do you mean to attract people like you who want to spend their money like you? Because most people who want to make money online won't care what you spend your money on except they often like to be able to spend it on fancy stuff, cars, and houses, not animal shelters, so I would definitely make sure they know they are going to be able to get that out of your wealth laptop site!
Because people come to your site because they are attracted about something for THEM, they don't come to your site to be attracted to what a great person you are and how you spend your money.
Honestly I wish I could say I understand what you are up to, but I don't have a clue, sorry to be blunt, I must have been hit over the head recently :)
Thanks Kevin! But that doesn't even show up as a search term 'explanation' in google in the first couple of pages, so it must be particular vernacular to WA. Maybe it's in the training for WA affiliates, I'm not partaking of it atm.
In any event, perhaps this blog post is more about garnering reassurance and emotional support more than seeking ideas for a solution to the slow income. In which case, there is plenty of that, there always is.
Even so, I say that MMO is, by itself, too broad a niche, very competitive, and can be narrowed down in a more targeted fashion than heretofore described.
That's my recommendation/suggestion Louise asked for.
