26 August 2019 - the year is coming to an end ... or is it? Absolutely not! This is the 8th month of a 12-month year folks, we still have FOUR whole months to give it our ALL!! So, let's do these folks, Finish Strong [It Aint Over Til The Fat Lady Sings]

5 Steps To Help You Finish Strong

I found these steps in a fellow bloggers site, to avoid plagiarism, here is the article, clever site name: StrategySarah.

1. Recommit to Your Goal

I am a SAC contender and confess that I started out at a sprint and stumbled early in the game. Whether you are an SAC contender or not, or you are and stumbled later than I did ... let's do this together and recommit to the goal!

Perhaps you are an SAC contender and feel like you are so far behind that there is absolutely no point in even continuing (someone knows where this comes from - you know who you are). Re frame your thoughts, refocus your mind. Ask yourself some questions:

  • How far behind am I really?
  • How much do I have to do to catch up?
  • How much time do I have to do the catching up?

Perhaps you are 12 blogs behind (this is just a random number) and there are 18 and a bit weeks left between now and 31 December. If you produce one extra blog per week, you will have overshot the number of blogs you need to write. Only one per week! Come ON! You can do this!!!

If you are not an SAC contender but have missed your goals by a country mile - again, no worries, you have 18 weeks to get caught up before the new year kicks in! EIGHTEEN WHOLE WEEKS! At only 2 hours per day, you have a WHOPPING TWO HUNDRED & FIFTY TWO HOURS to achieve what you set out to achieve.

YOU CAN DO IT!

YOU CAN!

2. "Make Your Action Steps Effort Driven Not Outcome Driven"

As StrategySarah says in her blog, once you have identified the goal, now you identify the action steps. What steps will you need to take to meet those goals?

Sarah spoke about action steps being something you can control. How about not watching that TV series or give up the time you spend with the lads every Saturday afternoon? Even if it's only every second week. This will free up the additional time you need to take extra action.

3. Identify What You Need To Stop Doing

Are you a procrastinator? Do you dislike research? What is standing in your way? Are you in your own way?

Only you can truly know what you need to stop doing. You can do this, identify whatever it is and just stop doing it. Even if you need to put a time period on it, know that it's only for the final quarter of 2019 - because your goal is to FINISH STRONG!

4. Identify What You Need To Keep On Doing

What helps you? Are you motivated by reading the success blogs written by fellow WA members? if so, do more of that. Perhaps reading success blogs has a counter effect on you, if that is the case, it is something better suited to point number 3. Then stop reading the blogs.

Think about when you first started (SAC or with Wealthy Affiliate), what were you doing that worked for you? That's what you need to keep on doing.

For me, my mind was literally buzzing with activity and excitement, I fed it by reading and researching ALOT. I dreamed about website - yeah, the passion was all-consuming! Get back there, look for ideas wherever you are, whatever you're doing.

Exercise 3 x per week if it helps. Make sure you are eating well, sleeping well and hydrating. These are the things that worked for you - keep on doing them. For me, ironically, it was during detox that I had my most exciting ideas and highest energy levels. Nope, I ain't detoxing for 3 months, but I sure will be changing what I am doing and get back to what works for me.

5. Identify What You Need To Start Doing

This could be something as simple as being more organized - have your keywords ready to write your articles, as Kyle as suggested in SAC.

According to entrepreneurshipinabox.com these are the 8 benefits of being organized:

  • "You'll be a more productive person" (I love the sound of this!)
  • "You can better manage your time" (this is getting better)
  • "You will process every idea you have" (and better)
  • "You will be more focused on the right things" (and betterer!)
  • "You'll have less stress" (Woah! Yes, please)
  • "You'll waste less time" (Oh yeah)
  • "You'll procrastinate less" (Whew, that would be a relief)
  • "You'll do a better job with better quality" (awesome!)

According to this list, I definitely need to become better organized! How about you?

(See what I did there? Yip, one for the ladies and one for the men :-))

What do you need to start doing? I love what

StategySarah.com has to say in this section:

"What are you not doing currently that would make an impact toward your goal? Remember to keep these small and manageable action steps. Don’t go too big, too fast. Find small wins.
Back to the example, three things I am going to start doing are: packing a lunch, drinking tea first thing in the morning instead of coffee and doing quick, 7-minute workouts 3-5x per week.

Learning to intentionally slow down at the beginning, and focus on consistency of effort rather than volume of output has will dramatically increase your productivity, stress levels and satisfaction."

It Ain't Over til The Fat Lady Sings

According to Wikipedia, this means:

It ain't over till (or until) the fat lady sings is a colloquialism which is often used as a proverb. It means that one should not presume to know the outcome of an event which is still in progress. More specifically, the phrase is used when a situation is (or appears to be) nearing its conclusion. It cautions against assuming that the current state of an event is irreversible and clearly determines how or when the event will end. The phrase is most commonly used in association with organized competitions, particularly sports.

"Let us run with endurance run the race that is set before us." (Heb 12:1).

We are in the last quarter of 2019, we will never get this time back again. Our goals will not go away, they will either be achieved, nor not. Let's get stuck in, take all the advice we need. Energize ourselves knowing that we can Finish Strong [It Aint Over Til The Fat Lady Sings]

What will she be singing? Auld Lang Syne at midnight on Tuesday 31 December 2019!

What will we be doing? Celebrating achieving our goals AND welcoming in 2020!

Why? Because We Finished 2019 Strong!

Share with me in comments - Are you planning to finish strong? How are you going to do it?

Blessings as always

Enjoyed your blog Louise. One of my favourite sayings.
Goals for this year, 2019. Setup my website, get traffic, add affiliate links, start making some income. 4 weeks in and 12 to go.

Baby steps. Read and comment on morning blogs with community. Follow others. Do lesson. Write the assignment post. Blog once a week.

On track so far.

Hi Aaron
Not ignorant at all :-) SAC is the Super Affiliate Challenge that Kyle launched 3 or 4 months ago.
Thank you for stopping to read and ask too.

Hi Tim
We all learn something new - in this instance, I was referring to Super Affiliate Challenge, it's a little disconcerting to see that it can also refer to missing the boat or screwing things up. i wonder if Kyle knows that, lol.
Blessings always
