I have now been with Wealthy Affiliate 3 months and am loving the community more and more! I have created two (and a half!) websites so far and am particularly enjoying blogging on my travel one as I am currently spending 6 weeks in South America. I love the fact that I can update my websites on the move and continue being an active member of the community 😀

Here are my websites for anyone that is interested:

www.soulmusicandme.com

www.curiousfootsteps.com

I am proud of how far I have got so far and am looking forward to continuing at the same rate of progress over the next 3 months.

A big thank you to everyone in this community also, you are all fabulous! And just for a bit of inspiration....

Ooooohhhh travel talk!! Now where is the icon for me rubbing my hands together!!!

Those are some nice footsteps you've left across the world and some amazing photography to boot. I like music site too, reminds of times I've spent in Memphis where the most amazing musicians would just "show up" and join in the band. I spent many nights in BB King and then jumping in and out of doors all down Beale St. What a place... I imagine New Orleans is quite similar and really..REALLY have to get that off my bucket list.

Out of curiosity, are you monetizing either of these domains. Do you find them to be profitable or want them to be more so. If you do, please feel free to share your thoughts on the link below.

Haha, thank you! The travel blog is for my friends and family and my own pleasure so I'm not monetising it but the soul music one I am....however it's in its early days so got a long way to go!! I might think about monetising the travel one in the future but not really sure how as don't want to fill it with links to all the places I talk about....

Loiuse, you're a good friend.. I cannot tell you how many people have asked to me blog about my travels and aside from a few photo albums on Fakebook, I regretfully have only regaled them with stories in person.

I KNOW... not very share'y of me, is it? :-(

That being said, I've often wondered about monetizing a travel blog myself. I don't remember the article or the link, but Wandering Earl had a good one about how he made a living by blogging about travel. (p.s. my Santorini pics are nicer.. he-heh)

Nomadic Matt is also a good start

As is, the Blond Abroad who I think might be making more than all these guys. She definitely has a much better videographer!

Johhny Jet has been around for ages too, not even sure he travels anymore.. profits though... most definitely.

So while I may not have the idea of how you make it work, most the links above do.. and a lot them, Earl, Matt, Kiersten, Johnny, etc. all do this full-time and well over six figures a year... but started off with a simple travel blog.

Hope that adds some sunshine to your day, as well as stirring up some provoking thoughts about where you will travel to next :-)

Hi,

Apologies, for some reason I have only just seen your (very thoughtful and lengthy) reply! Perhaps because I have only had sporadic wifi along my way through South America and it somehow got missed!

All those links are great to give me more inspiration - thank you so much :)

Thanks for sharing your awesome websites! I really like the look and layout of curiousfootsteps, well designed and great content.

Cheers!

Thank you!

It looks great when you add those amazing photos in there. If anyone is interested the theme is called Connect and can be found the Free Wordpress Theme Directory.
