Red wine compound slow progress of Alzheimer's.

"In the experiment by researchers from across the US, 119 people with mild to moderate Alzheimer's were given either the supplement for a year or a placebo(sugar pill). Those given the supplements started out at 500 mg/day, which was increased incrementally to 1,000 mg twice a day after around six month."

"Their blood bio-markers were measured and their brains regularly scanned during the year. Those taking the supplements had lower levels of blood markers of the disease, although there were a few minor side effects, such as nausea, diarrhea and weight loss. Resveratrol was also able to be crossed the blood-brain barrier and produce central nervous system effect, the researchers said."

Resveratrol__ a compound found in red wine, peanuts and some berries__may help prevent Alzheimer's disease and dementia, a new study has found.

"People who was already showing early signs of the disease reported that their symptoms ___such as memory lose and cognitive issues___didn't get worse while taking Resveratrol supplements. supplements deliver for higher levels of resveratrol than can be realistically achieved from eating and drinking."

One 500-mg supplement__which the volunteers started with is equivalent to what's in amount a thousand bottles of red wine.

Great info Louisa, I take Resveratox which has 200mg of resverarol & I take 2 per day... I feel it does make me feel healthier. I knocked them off for over a month & got my first cold in ages... It might have been a coincidence, maybe not....Thanks for sharing :)
