Moving Before The Snow

Moving is very stressful especially as you get older.

I realize that I have been missing in action for a couple of weeks now, in and out of work and moving at th same time. I'm sure many of you have had to downsize and move to something smaller than you had before. So we are on the same page.

Have you ever wondered how to make moving less painful?

Well, for older people a move is most likely involve downsizing and departing with lot's of prossessions. However, there are ups and downs with moving to a smaller place.

1. You must get rid of some of your important and loved items.
   
2. Finding a good reasonable moving service.
3. Get a storage to hold some of your belongings until you are settled.
4. Moving into a new location.
5. Adaptation & Relocation

The most important thing is to take as much time as possible.

• make sure that there is time to reflect on what items means before deciding their fate
• take photograph of meaninful prossessions so that they can be viewed at anytime.
• to reduce the stress and make the move a success, it is important to be aware that there are psychological minefields to navigate and tough decisions to make.

These are some ways to go about the process.

• Donate unwanted possessions to a nonprofit organization; like Goodwill, or Salvation. get a sales ticket for tax purpose at income tax time.
• Skip the Storage Unit. by doing so, you avoid another monthly bill.
• Ditch the junk; old throw rugs, rusted tin pans, excess clothe hangers,etc.,
• Get additional help; family,friends and relatives can play a good role in helping make sure your move goes smoothly as possible.
