20 DAY PROGRESS / DAY 3 DIABETIC WARNING!

I just completed my annual check-up the other day and by surprise I received some not so good news. Have you ever went to take your physical exam or just a routine checkup and after the checkup you sit impatiently waiting for a few results. Here I am sitting there waiting for the Dr. to come back and give me my check- out and paper work. I was indeed panting because I am always thinking about the worse of my health condition. Yes, over weight. I am weighing 298 lb which is to much for me to carry. Not good at all.

The unexpected news was boarder line diabetic. When he told me this I went limp in my legs because I thought it was something else more worse than that, but anyhow, I was feeling somewhat, overwhelmed. For months now, my body was giving a few warning signs that my sugar glucose was high, but I was not to sure how high it was until I went for my checkup.

Possibly genetic. My father was boarder line at one point around his 86 birth date., but now he is doing okay with a few adjustments to his diet. He is very active, still drives, at 20 miles per hour which is good a man his age. He walks everyday so exercise is not the factor. Anyway, mom didn't have diabetic's she passed from normal complications.

Moreover, right now in my life feel that good physical health is imperative. Along with, emotion, spiritual and psychological health are important. So here I am on a 20 day progress ......to...One of my passion this quarter is to take my health and well being more serious than ever. This change include; eating healthier and exercise more regularly. This is so important to me. So now that I have the ball rolling in the right direction concerning "HEALTHY FOOD CHOICE" And the overall physical wellness, it will work, not so easy to loose weight, but I am going to set a goal to lose 30 lb first and then I will proceed with another 30 lb.



HERE ARE SOME WARNING SIGNS:

"If you have diabetic, there are a 50% chance that you may also have Diabetic Neuropathy. Permanent Nerve damage that often affects the feet and legs causing numbness, burning, sensitivity to touch and sharp, stabbing pain. You may also have formed to topical or oral medications to help relieve your pain and discomfort."

DRUGS USED TO TREAT DIABETIC

They normally falls into several categories: Just to name a few...

  • Antidepreissants, including tricyclies and serontonin- norepinephrine, reuptake inhibitors (SNRLS)
  • Antiseizure drugs, or anticonvulsants, topical capsaicin, an over- the counter pain reliever (available as capsin and other brands)
  • Opioido dextromethorphan, morphine sulfate, tramadol, oxycodone)

FACTS:

Most drugs that help relieve diabetic neuropathy symptoms are similar in effectiveness. For that reason, side effects, coexisting medical conditions and cost should be deciding factors in choosing a drug..

WHAT MUST WE DO TO KEEP WELL?

  • Controlling your blood can help
  • Prevent complication by taking good care of your feet
  • Avoid activity that may injure your feet
  • Avoid walking bare foot
  • Wash your feet daily for cracked and broken skin calluses and infection around the toes nails
  • Choose cotton socks that fit loosely and change them daily
  • Wear well-fitting shoes,
  • Schedule foot appointment three times a year

LOTS of people are classified borderline diabetic Louisa. It's the 300 lbs. that is a lot more worrying for other more acute health reasons!

As always , It's a pleasure to receive your feedback,/and or reply. I am serious about excess weight gain. I must be come more conscience of my food intake and the seriousness it can cause to our body.

I started to eat healthy 10 years ago and it works. It is a long story, but I will not go into that. but I did prove them wrong and I am still alive today.

Type II Diabetes is a growing pandemic and, arguably, sugar is the biggest culprit. Mexico has the world's greatest number of annual amputations which are directly linked to diabetes. Why is that? Sugary drinks (Coca Cola) are more freely available than water.

Our food can be our medicine. I personally believe that a juice fast (10 or 15 days) is a fantastic way to break the sugar addiction and to rectify many things, such as blood pressure, glucose levels, cholesterol levels). It certainly worked for me!

I really appreciate your reply/and or feedback. I believe the same about (sugary drinks) and soda pops. They are all filled with sugar that is harmful for our glucose level and over all health. I am sure to go on a juice diet for about a month. I am going to work on me now, and give that (ME TIME) that is missing.

Diabetes is definitely no fun Louisa! I have type 2 diabetes and it has been way out of control til recently! I got a new doctor and new meds. The first day I went to see her my sugar was over 400! Since I've been on new meds my sugar has been in low 100's and below for 6 weeks now! I weighed 200 plus and now at 184. I have 24 more pounds to lose to get where I want to be at 160! Doc wants 140 or 150 but I am 5'7" tall so 140 will make me look twiggy! LOL... I hope yours doesn't get any worse! Will be praying for you!

It's always a pleasure to follow you. I am so happy to share within your network here at WA. I am proud of you for catching the problem and making changes. You're on new medicine and have a new doctor, that is fine. I am a tall woman about 5'9 and most of my weigh is in my height. so I really need to loose about 60 lb.

I feed that after 50 we must get serious about our wellness. It 's never to late to start. So I am motivated to take this to the next level. I will follow you. please continue on your success.
