I've never fallen for the Phishing emails, but I've been a victim of hacking before. Years ago, someone hacked into my Microsoft Xbox Live account, completely changed the language of my home page and started racking up large charges, but thankfully I caught it in time before the charges could go through.
I contacted my bank, and they put a stop on it before the pending charges could go through and then contacted Microsoft and they confirmed my account was hacked and they immediately suspended my account and did an investigation. Thankfully my bank only had to shut down my debit card and not entire checking account since I was paying for Xbox Live through my debit card.
A month later Microsoft contacted me and informed me that the hacking of my account originated in Russia. They offered me 3 months of service for free.
Thank God! All worked out in your favor. Today in our society, we must believe that theses things do happen, and can happen to anyone, expecially on line users.
I am happy that Microsft reached out with compassion.
I like also how your bank took action in a customarily way.
Awesome Ending!
Thank you for sharing thir story!
Thanks for sharing.
I had 3 Facebook friends cloned within a week and I knew there was something wrong right away. None of them had pictures so I went to their profiles and saw they were fine.
I notified all 3 and they reported it.
It's terrible!
Yes, it's terrible, and we must be on the watch for theses crimminal minded actors.
I am delighted that your 3 facebook friends are okay.
Thanks for following.
