I've already cleared my my cache twice, and my WP editor (not the visual editor) is not loading. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Christina

Did you completely close everything down and log in again?

Yes, I did. It turned out to be a technical setting issues and I messaged WA tech support who were unable to unlock the page for me. All fixed :)

Just a simple suggestion save what your doing shutdown and restart. If no go contact site support
Blessings
Hope it works

Thank you! I did contact support and they had to "unlock" my editor page. Never heard of that before but heck its loading now so no complaints on my end :)

Glad you got it fixed
Blessings

Me too! that's was a frustrating one today! I appreciate the help, I'll probably need more as I go along ;)

I'm having some problems with creating a pop up form with mailchimp and integrating it into my website. Does anyone have any resources on this that could help?

Thanks!

Hey Christina,
Check out Trish's link below!!!

Tried and True

Elaine

Thank you! I've been through a lot of the resources and found it was a technical issue that my editor was locked. It has since been unlocked! yay!

Hey Christina,

You may find the help you are looking for among the many tutorials offered here at WA. See screen print below to learn how you can easily access them.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thank you very much! I will continue to use this as I explore mailchimp more thoroughly!

Ok I am a bit confused, I read somewhere that Mailchimp wouldn't work with affiliate marketers, so how do you get around that. Will the tutorials you recommend explain this.
Mary

Hey Mary,

Not using MailChimp myself... and having never read any such warning, I am not sure. You will need to review the tutorials to see if that advice is being offered.

I'm starting to affiliate link through my content and want to make sure I'm not putting in too many. I'm not doing product comparisons, but blogging tips then including my fav

Hi Christina,

Great valid question!

1) Try and think of your affiliate links as outbound links where people are leaving your site.

2) Take into consideration that Google wants to gives it's searchers a great user experience whereas once a user clicks on a search result, the user stays on that site and isn't enticed to leave too soon.

3) With all that said, make sure you don't have too many links that are taking people away from your site before reading most of your content.

Thanks, that's helpful. Understanding the google perspective is complex. I have put my affiliate links towards the bottom 2/3 of my content, so I would imagine that would help with a user's on-page time before navigating away from the page. Do you think that makes a difference?

Yeah I would not put links too early in your post, internal linking (linking within your site) would be fine, not affiliate links.

What about if you are writing on “300 top magazines in the world that pays writers” ?

Though this is not affiliate link, but don’t we have to link to those magazine sites so as to help my audience? Such link will stil take away my readers from my site to such websites.

Is this case is it wrong?

Thanks

John

Those would be called external links, no, why would you external link so many? You wouldn't do a post like that, at least I won't.

Thanks for the response. It is informational content. It's been converting well.

Regards

Jofa

I'm unsure what you're asking then if it's "converting well" to have so many external links. How is it converting well if they are not affiliate links?

Ok. Such content attracts an audience that wants to make money writing. I use such content to offer a better alternative. That is the intent.

Are you saying you have never seen such a post doing great? Another example of such post is Top 30 Bloggers That Makes $40,000 Monthly.

If you write such a post won't you link to their websites? If you do is it not going to be an external link? Let me know what you think.

I want to be sure that I am not making mistakes here!

Thanks for your time.

Regards

John

Oh I see what you mean, those types of posts are very shareable so you could get a lot of traffic like that. Yes those will all be external links that make people leave your site.

Ok. thanks for your time.

Regard.

John.

Yes affiliate links do affect rankings but as long as you don't have a lot, you're okay. Use 2-3 for every 1000 words should be fine.

Ok, and maybe I'll through in a few posts with only 1 or 0 links. Would that be a helpful tactic too?

You could structure your site with 1 - 3 (or as many as you want) main "money" pages with your main recommendations on them, so those could be your posts with affiliate links. Then when you write other content, you will refer people to these "money" pages, so most of your content does not have affiliate links in it.

You can still have some more posts with affiliate links, this way, you will have most of your posts without them so you can internal link which is good for SEO, and you can have more posts in total without affiliate links which google likes too.

Money pages are pages that lists a bunch of affiliate products like "Top 10 Shoes To Buy", and each shoe on this list would have about 250 words in it to describe each one plus about 2-3 affiliate links for each product on this page, so that's 20-30 affiliate links but this post will have at least 2,500 words in it plus you have intros and conclusions you can add so easily 3K word post. People write 6K word posts for this type of posts cuz they'll also include like a FAQ about those products or Buyer's guide to add more info to these posts.

Then each shoe on this Top 10 list will have a Full review post that will be internal linked to this Top 10 list and vice versa.

Each of those Full reviews may or may not need any affiliate links, this is up to you. If you do include affiliate links, then you should only do one or two at most, and at least over 1,000 words.

Then you will also write a bunch of supporting type posts (how to clean shoes, which shoe for which occasion, etc) that will have CTAs (call to actions) for your visitors to go visit one or more of your money pages.

I hope this makes sense and if not, ask away! :)
Grace

This makes total sense and is great advice! Thank you!!

you're welcome :)

HI Christina, Kyle makes a point in the training not to 'stuff' your page full of links and to mix your posts with some that don't have any in them. Apparently Google do not like to see pages overflowing with them. I would say two or three is a fair amount to have in a post.

ok, good to know. I have a post with 3000 words and 8 links. I may decide to pare it down a little bit.

From my understanding, if you have a couple of links on a post, that's not a problem. You may want some post with no affiliate links, but instead use internal links that they will take them to post with your affiliate links on them.

Hope this makes sense.
Jim

What is the difference between internal and external
links?
Janet

Thanks Jim, when you say 'take them to an internal page/link' do you recommend having a page dedicated to favorite products of the website? Or just post and affiliate link in one post and reference back to it in another post?

Hi Chrisitna- Yes Google does not like it when your content is stuffed with links
Vicki

Thank you!!

Keyword, Niche and Market Research

I'm looking at niches in the health and wellness space, particularly products for self massage and myofascial release. There are a lot of products out there (ie heat wraps, mus

How you're going to choose (what products) is by keyword research... that is the key to this online business with ANY niche.

For now, you don't have to think about the products. The niche of self massage and myofascial release is great itself. You will learn about keyword research in Level 2 and may have an intro to it in Level 1.

Awesome, thanks!

Hi Lottie- Think about names for your domain as this may help you narrow it down a lot
For example limberup says exercise but it could also mean products to help you limber up
Hope this helps
Vicki

That's a great suggestion and an angle I hadn't thought of for approaching my niche. Thank you!

i like limber up, but I also like limberology...a combo of limber and ology (meaning the study of). Thoughts?

you are welcome - all the best
Vicki

good idea- see they are flowing now- very cool and its one word with a .com which is really awesome- is it available?

yes it's available. I think it's time to jump on it :)

same- its rolls of the tongue real easy so go for it :)

Thanks for the help! purchased! one step closer :)

Congratulations Lottie- you certainly are on your way and it is a great domain name as it kinda says it all really.
I feel you are going to hit the ground running and find success at every corner with your attitude
All the best and keep us up to date with your progress
