I have a couple of sites which have content that overlap. Can I copy and paste my own articles on separate sites or will Google see this as plagiarism?

Yep, Google frowns on that. I love your site. What adventures you're having.

Thank you so much Debbie! Yes I sure am - I am truly blessed! :-)

Even though it is your content it would be seen as duplicate content and you would be pennalized for it. Marion has made a good suggestion

Thanks Katie! Yes I think a link is a good idea rather than having to rewrite the blog - appreciate your help! :-)

And the community helps out again,as always.
All good answers :)

For sure! What terrific friends I have! WA to the rescue... :-)

Don't we know it :)

Better to write some new content and link to your other websites. Google likes that better than duplicate content. ~Marion

Perfect! That's a good idea Marion- I had a feeling there could be a problem- thanks so much to all your help at WA - I could have given myself a big problem! ;-)

Defenitely a DO'NT, this blog is being indexed too, you make duplicate content doing so.

Danke schon Loes! I appreciate your help very much ;-)

Google will definitely see it as duplicate content. Can you re-write it and give it a bit of a "facelift" for the second page?

I was not sure if being from the same author would be ok but thats answers for me. Many thanks!

When I place cursor into text area the original html is highlighted but I am unable to edit it - anyone help me?

glad you got it sorted out

Thanks to all of you who gave advice on my problem. I contacted the technical support guys who found an issue with my CKEditor which is now disabled. What amazing support there is here! Just getting this problem sorted out has taught me lots!

I've noticed after the latest upgrade of Wordpress that now and then there is no text on my edit area, even though the word count shows that words are there. Sometimes a refresh sorts it out. (Not sure if issue with my screen or Wordpress but definitely since the upgrade to 4.0)

I'm having the same problem, can anyone help????

Hey Josey - I had to contact tech help when it happened to me and my CK editor was faulty... perhaps they can help...
Hope all good with you and you are not working too hard... :-)

Yes, I followed your advice, contacted support
How are you? I noticed you're not around much
miss ya!

Hey Josey - miss you too hun - I often think of you when I hear news from Syria or Lebanon. i hope things are not too stressful for you but I know thats just wishful thinking....
All is very good here and I got back from Germany last week. Staying temporarily with my daughter and getting organised for my trip to Asia in a few weeks. First stop HK - so busy repacking coats and boots for t.shirts and sandals - but no complaints - I'm a very lucky lady...I know...Not much time for online stuff these days but maybe a travel blog would be good... You take care and tell Taz I said he better take good care of you... ;-)

Good You're enjoying yourself, sounds wonderful.
Happy to hear from You

You probably already did this but have you created a child theme for your parent theme?

no - I haven't - I'm not sure how to do that...

Search for mhamilt or rob3 tutorials. They really helped me. They tell you all about child-themes, how they're used, and how to upload to the FTP server (if you don't have one already), and how to insert it in the correct directory. Good luck! Not that you'll need it. Just follow instructions an you'll be fine. Let me know.

Thats great thanks so much Wanda - will try that for sure.. really appreciate the help....

Did you upgraded your version of Wordpress? I read once that sometimes there were issue after the upgrade. Also have you upgraded the theme you were using? Hope this will guide you to the solution. Cheers.

Hi - yes - I was afraid that it was something to do with the Wordpress upgrade. I changed the theme also but the issue stayed the same so I changed back to my original theme. I also installed a new editor but I still have the same problem - thank you for your help - Lorna

What about the plugins you are using? Do some of them need to be upgraded?

everything upgraded thanks Fred

Hi, Lorna, I'm glad it is working ok. Best of luck!

Only the plugins unfortunately Peggy...

Hi Lorna, do you have any error message?

Also here are other options you might try: clear your cache and cookies, test with another browser (which one are you using?).

No error message - thanks for help Fred - will try to clear cache and cookies...

Yes, also, does it happen with your "admin" user, your "personal" user or both? (in one of the first lesson we were asked to create a personal user in order to avoid posting articles with our "admin" user)

I always post under my own name - I haven't looked under admin login - will try thanks...

To log in with your admin user, go via "Build My Website" on WA. If you can update a post with your admin user, maybe you should after that check the access rights of your own username (a wrong setting is quickly made). Hope you'll solve this.

Thanks so much Fred - I will keep trying - it will be resolved soon I'm sure... :-)

Have you tried just copying & pasting? Paste it into the text, not visual. If this doesn't work, please let me know, maybe there is something else you can do. Good luck! Peggy

Thanks Peggy - I cant get into the editing area at all - the area looks blank but when I place the cursor in the area - it highlights the text I entered originally but it cant be edited...strange because when I load my site the posts and pages look fine

Do you have it in Text or Visual?

Hi Alan - I have tried to edit in text and html but can not do either.
