I Couldn't Believe My Eyes and Neither Will You!
I will keep this post short, I can almost hear your sighs of relief, but frankly there isn't really much I can say that will do this justice, you simply need to see it for yourselves, particularly if you need some light relief - but there is also a serious side.
I can't remember quite how I came across this website, but it was a couple of months ago, it's hammacher.com (NB: not an affiliate link), which is the site of Hammacher Schlemmer. Some of you in the US may already know of Hammacher Schlemmer, but when I came across it, it was a revelation! As I searched the site I simply couldn't believe what I was seeing, it was one unbelievable item after another. I couldn't believe the products offered for sale, nor the prices people pay for them.
When I came across the two seater killer whale styled submarine, not a toy, but an actual submarine, I thought that must be the ultimate, until I came across the five seater, exploration submarine!
Then there is the seven seater tricycle where the riders sit facing each other in a circle pedalling, whilst one person, who is seated looking forward, steers - or tries to! Then there's the barbeque boat, the hot tub boat, the reproduction Batmobile, the flying (yes flying!) bicycle, the pedal powered car (for adults!), or maybe you're just interested in a voice activated R2D2.
In the UK we have a phrase "gobsmacked", which may not exist in the USA, but take a look at the site and you will see what I mean. Some of the best links within the site are "The Unexpected", "Collecting & Memorabilia" and "Sports & Leisure", of which "Pool & Water" and "Outdoor Fun" are sub-divisions.
Not only that, but you will see that, for most of the products, there is a "quantity" option button, enabling customers to buy more than one!
When you have finished falling off your chair laughing - there is a serious and useful side. They have an affiliate programme! Hooray!!
It's a bit difficult to find, but if you scroll down to the bottom of the home page you will see a link to "Careers". Clicking on it will take you to a new page, (headed with a blue banner), on that screen click the link "View All Open Positions" and then, on the resulting new page, from the vertical menu on the left of the screen, select "Affiliate Program". Apparently the affiliate programme is listed on Commission Junction.
Even if you have no interest in becoming an affiliate, the site is a fascinating and fun place to spend an hour, or two, or three, or until you fall asleep over your keyboard!
As I said earlier, there are NO affiliate links in this post - I am not an affiliate - at least not as yet, I have too many other projects on the go. Also, this post has turned out not to be as mercifully short as I had promised - sorry!

Brandon. I was just looking for the sites that you have that are ranking with Google but I guess I don't have any way of telling which sites are doing this; you didn't leave any tracks to follow. All I can say is Congratulations because after I read your post today I thought they might be easy to find. Not so unless you were to leave a URL or two. Thanks any way.
Thank you for your comments Rene. My website is hovercrafthq.com. That's the one which is ranking. I will be affiliating to other products and setting up more sites, but I am concentrating on that one at the moment. Also, I have managed to acquire a handful of domains which used to be websites and seem to attract traffic, despite only be parked, but that wasn't one of those.

The site is amazing and completely bonkers! The pub bar cycle being a case in point. Also, if a person owns a lake and bought a number of the circular barbeque boats, they could set up their own boating restaurant!

Yes, Hammacher Schlemmer is amazing. They used to have mall stores with their smaller products, but I haven't seen one in the last few years so it must not have been lucrative for them. My sites don't lend themselves to this type of affiliate, but I wish you good luck!
Hammacker is the KING of amazing things! I did not know they had an affiliate program, so I will definitely check it out! Likewise, I've got my hands full with my doggie project, but the holidays are coming.........

One thing I noticed is that some of the products, I think usually the really seriously expensive, one off items, e.g. the WW2 RN or RCN Vosper motor torpedo boat, can only be ordered by 'phone, in which case I don't know how an affiliate's efforts could be tracked. I will need to ask them, when I get a chance.

We have a store in our mall! There's another one called Brookstone that's similar. We enjoy going in just to look around. You are right, it's simply amazing! People actually buy!!!

I clicked the View All Open Positions as you said, but the next page shows only two items and there is no vertical menu where I could find the affiliate program. Could you please help? I am just curious.
