But is it ok to duplicate sentences or paragraphs from my own conte
You can use duplicate content from one page to another on your same site, but you cannot use content you have published elsewhere on your site.
I don't recommend re-using content too much on your site, but if there is a practical purpose or you want to use a snippet or quote for another post, then that is fine.
I just wouldn't get into the habit of doing this.

I get what you mean and its not hard to understand why Google frowns upon doing it.
I'm trying to make a habit out of asking visitors to share my posts with their friends and inviting them to leave comments but I'm running out of sentence structures to do it on each post.
That is why I was asking if its ok to copy the one or two sentences where I do it from one post to another.
