Thanks for the information everyone. After doing some more test on it I believe it's a 24 hour thing. Checked on my wife's computer that hasn't visited the site in over 24 hours and the news logos and post showed up without a manual refresh. This is good to know. You all have a great day now

As you've suspected it's due to caching - this is a function that speeds up your website (as it stops your browser requesting & downloading a entirely new page from the server each time).

Normally there'll be an option in your caching plugin to purge the cache if you need to do it at any specific moment... Otherwise it'll automatically purge itself after a set timeframe.

Sound like it is quite normal to me, i have the same thing with mine

New post not showing up unless i manually refresh why?

Hi Aaron,

I'm assuming you're using the free version?...

Keisha has a good idea to submit a ticket with SiteSupport... But before you do, see if your default settings are similar to mine (see attached)

Admin Dashboard > Settings > EWWW Image Optimizer > Basic (tab)

Here's EWWW's Support area too:
https://docs.ewww.io/

-Mike

Everything looks good settings wise. I'll probably end up putting in a support ticket thanks. When I click add media from a post none of my uploaded png files show up there either. I ended up just using a direct link to the images on my server as a temp fix till I can figure out what's going on. It's a shame I don't have ssh access myself or I would fix it myself...... Can't do png to jpg conversion on site as well because image magic is missing in the server... This is the only downside to this kind of service. Don't get me wrong. I love wa. But coming from someone that runs a home linux server for other things. Something it's nice having more access.

... I understand what you mean. I'm keeping things pretty basic on my site, and editing images prior to uploading. It's an additional step, but keeps me on my game, I guess.

Technically, you could get away without using EWWW altogether. Or reinstall if settings get too scrambled.

Regarding images, Jay made some help[ful tutorials... ... (33:30 min/sec) Images / media into posts. ... (Image SEO)

-Mike

Yeah. I'm using gimp to convert and compress the images myself right now. And after I upload the images I just use a direct link. It's a workaround and it works so I'll probably just keep doing it this way. I don't think the plug-in is going to comoress the images any better then gimp anyway. I mean there is only so much you can do with an image before quality loss happens

Thanks for trying though. Appreciate your help

hey hi Arron -- uhm -- suggest you might want to contact Site Support via the Help Center and initiate/fill out a service ticket with all the specific particulars for their professional assistance ...

they're normally very prompt and proficient here at WA ...and very well known for their excellent service ...

hope it all works out -- cheerio ... :)
