When you can sell an apple, you can sell anything.!
Did you know that customer benefits arise from product characteristics? I show you which five qualities your product consists of, according to the American professor Philip Kotler.
Kotler's vision
Kotler's vision is included in marketing study books and shows 5 levels of a product.
- Core product
- Generic product
- Expected product
- Extensive product
- Potential product
Let's explain this with an actual product.
Hmm, let's take the Apple iPhone 8 in mind
1. The core product
The iPhone itself, color, memory, pricing, etc.
2. Generic product
Purpose, what can you do with it. And what's included in the product, data bundle, camera, the benefits, etc.
3. Expected product
Best product you can buy, looks good, feels good, trustful.
4. Extensive product
All gadgets you can get for it, covers, ear buds, protection foil, etc.
5. Potential product
Summarize: The complete product.
The iPhone 8, color, all features, user friendliness.
Next level service
Customer service. Connect with your customers and ask how the purchased product meets. Build trust so they will come back.
Let's now take this theory of Philip Kotler into WA
1. The Core Product
Education platform.
2. Generic product
Building a website following a step by step course, free and premium account, learning affiliate marketing, the benefits, etc.
3. Expected product
Best opportunity to become successful online with an amazing looking website. Feels trustful.
4. Extensive product
Everything included: Keyword research tool, technical support, community support, overhead security, SSL, etc.
5. Potential product
Summarize the complete product.
Education, security, all features, opportunity to score on page #1, etc.
Next level service
Connect with your premium referrals and ask regularly how they are doing. When you have a lot of referrals, make a special email list to let them know you care for them, once in a while.
Get them OUT OF your WA promotion email list!
It's no fun, to get only WA advertising emails when you are already a premium member.
You can apply this circle of 5 to any product you want to sell.

Great information. Thank you Loes for sharing. When I read the title, a juicy red apple is what I pictured. Guess what generation I am from!
Have a marvelous weekend!
Haha, I am from the same generation, makes me think about my granddad, he always said, a good salesman can sell a wheelbarrow shit to a farmer. Have a great weekend too
Thank you, Loes. All this helps. It gives you a framework to plan around and as Mick rightly pointed out, do it over and over after tweaking your efforts.
