Hahahahaha, well it is not forbidden to try.or is it? (blackmail)

Last Update: February 22, 2019

I received a BLACK MAIL.

To be honest, I am very curious about this "particular" tape;) Especially, because I am very cautious and not trusting other users therefore I have my web camera constantly taped off.

He has got the password right, so I have changed it, just in case;)) One of the sites I have used this password on must have been hacked or has a dishonest way of doing business.

It would be hilarious if it was not so sad. I mean, he cares more about money than about honesty. It makes me sad that such people exist.

I want to tell him how life works, what you send out, you WILL get back, and you can now try to scam people, that is short-term gain, but one day it comes back to you.

How do I know it's a HIM? A woman never ever would send a woman an email about visiting a porn site!

What a scary experience! Honestly, you just can't be too careful! I had a site hacked before I joined WA and it took me a long time to figure out how to save it. I've got it here on WA, now, and it's just sitting here safe and sound until I'm ready to work on it, again.

Loes, what an idiot this person is. Any ideas how they cottoned on to you? I have my computer web cam turned off too. It's amazing how often it just turns on when visiting sites. Frankly, I was stunned when my latest internet security was telling me my web cam was turned on when I visited this or that site. I'd no idea. By the way, how did you deal with the aforementioned idiot?

Well scams are happening every day not just on the internet.
A few years ago a friend of mine took his car into a repair shop run by a large company.
They said his motor needed a new head gasket, the final bill was $3,000.00 ! But the motor still leaked ? So I went with him to the shop they put the car on the hoist and said it was the water pump !
I said what about the $3,000.00 you already charged for a car that's worth only about $2,000.00 the shop foreman said it could be more than one leak!
We took the car to my mechanic , he bent under the car rubbed his hand on the water pump and said my hand is greasy if the water pump was leaking my hand would not be greasy.
He said they would pressure test the motor, the result was a leaky frost plug !
My friend said he forgot to check the antifreeze one that year, this came out after I had questioned him.
My mechanic test was free and i told my friend to buy a $5.00 can of leakseal for the motor and that stopped the leak.
If my friend had let the first shop fix the water pump it would be another $185.00 and it would still be leaking.
Don't get me started and this nothing compared to the huge amounts of money restoration company's are charging insurance company's for fire, smoke and water damage its in the thousands and thousands of dollars which drives up our insurance costs :-(

Exactly or we need to write reviews about bad mechanics, dentists , lawyers, etc ha ha
It must be popular i have been writing reviews about businesses in the last 2 years mostly restaurants and i have had over 10,000 views mist of which came in the last year, 3,000 in the last 6 weeks , so this would keep people up to date on crooks and with so many people using cell phones it may keep people honest or they won't have any business !
Reply
Suzay Premium
Yes, I did write one "bad" review for a lab that did blood work, and she actually hurt me twice.
First time she missed one test, but left a big knot on my arm where she drew the blood. Later that week I saw a friend of mine and her twins. All 3 of them had the knots on their arms! And they had just come from the same place, LAB Corp, and same _itch drew their blood.
So my Dr. sends me back for the missing test, and again I got the knot.
So that was it! I left a review on Google and said the place has a new name, JAB CORP, and go some place else unless you want one too!
Reply
Johnpavich Premium
Good one i had a lab girl put the needle right through by vein and couldn't figure out why no blood was coming out ,she was new the other more experienced girl told her you've gone through the vein pull back a bit , yikes !

Send YUP to him and see if he is serious in sending the video he claims he has! If true, then tell him to share it very fast!.....with the kind of technology we have today everything is possible and it can be as well in your favor, so it is more like a combined/edited video made be a hacker who looks for many and your contacts will be taking you as the truthful one!
In case you happen to persuade and send the money, he will blackmail/colonize you forever and eventually release the video together with the persuasion money you might have been sending to hm....

I'm so sorry this happened to you. Happily Google has upgraded their security algorithms in the last few months so you can tell if a site is secure immediately. This helps everyone avoid giving an non secured site any info. like usernames and passwords.

Whatever site he got that password from probably got hacked years ago and somebody bought the passwords and emails in bulk.

The universe will take care of him. Karma is no fun for people like that. Hopefully you won't get anymore messages like that.

Hi Loes,
Wow, it's ridiculous what these scammers do! I get all kinds of spam and scam emails, some similar to what you've gotten, which I know are a load of b.s. as I have no webcam for one thing. However, I haven't seen any yet that had a password included...so, I just mark them as spam and delete them.

So, sorry you had to go through all this hassle of changing your password, but that's the smart thing to do if they got it correctly.

As for passwords, I never use the same one for any place...so, I have a small notebook to write them down in, and I usually make them hard to figure out...even for me! I never can remember them unless I use them every day, which is a pain, but for someone to figure them out, good luck, lol.

Anyways, I'm sure Karma will pay them a visit someday...what goes around, comes around!

Best wishes :) ~Sherry

Hi Loes, it is a shame that people like this exist. It would be interesting for me to get an e-mail like that. I have no need to cover my camera, because he wouldn't get anything but my face looking at my computer screen.

The whole thing would be a lie to try to get me with that scam. I have a distrust with webcam lenses on the laptop and just don't visit those sites...I'm too busy to even be interested to go to anything like the supposed site he says I may have visited.

Good on you for just ignoring him.

I wish you the best!

Oh, bummer. I guess I would have done the same. A note on security, check the e-mail notification set up on that site and make sure that he didn't change that too. Because when you change the password, he will get notification letting him know again. Just a thought.

That's very funny ,
But sometimes it is not .
I heard along time ago about a 20 yrs old guy who committed suicide in the USA . The story started when a scam group from philippines made an international site regarding love and dating .
Well , i know how such sites work because when i was working in Qatar i discovered a scam dating site like this runned by few philipino ladies and a stupid arab boss .
In such sites a lady or a man with a woman pic plays love to poor guys then she sends him her naked pics and asks him the same then starts to blackmail him with money .
Lets return to our subject , the poor american guy trusted that bitch and she gave him fake social media addresses of her , sent him naked pics , then asked him to do the same. Now she knows all his friends and relatives on social media and his parents mobile.
He was a guy in the university as i remember ,The scammers started to black mail him threatening him to show his naked pics to everybody . He sent all money that he has and he became in dept , at the end he commited suicide .
Such scam internet dating sites prevailed actually during that time . Whats funny is that they did this with an arabic guy from Jordan he said to ok Ok you can put all my naked Pics on the facebook and show to all my relatives and friends , i am not shame about that . They did actually , but in Arab culture photo of naked man is not a shame the shame always go on the woman . That's the culture - not my personal opinion -.
My comment on this post , i would like to tell you , loes, let go to hell , tell him send the pics for me and i will publish them myself on social media .Do not shy to do that.

Yes, My passwords were hacked several times , and even my facebook account windows account , google account and so on.
The thing is i change the password for all these important sites especially the ones that have payment info..
Some plugins , some internet sites , some apps may hack your info , and that is not avoidable . It is war between internet security and hackers . No body can avoid that.
Just change the password for important accounts and that's it . In addition check the apps that are allowed to your facebook , mostly it is one of them because many times it happened to me that an app is hacking my facebook , also check the apps and devices that are allowed to your windows account and google account , it may be one of these apps or devices that you do not recognize.

Hi Loes
I had a similar email a couple of weeks ago from a fellow who claimed to have compromising video clips of me that he would post on the web if I didn't pay a Bitcoin ransom.
He claimed to have hacked an email address that I don't ever use (it was for support on a site that I never launched). Some of the verbiage was identical.
I tracked his email back to a site from Malawi that gives free URL's, his 'who is' showed that he is registered in Amsterdam.
I tried to find an email for the Amsterdam police to send info. to in case others complain as well but no luck.
If you are interested to pursue let me know.

They had this thing running with hackers, and used a system before crypto was all the rage. I got these viruses before, and could not close down dialogue box. It demanded payment. I just rebooted computer.
I also now cover my webcam on my computer and laptop too after I heard stories about how samsung smart tv were 'on' for research purposes.
Was also a pic of mark zuckeberg and there was a picture of him where he has his cam and mic slots taped. The cheek of him who sold data. So my laptop is covered with tape as well.
nothing is safe so if you feel you need to safeguard data then do so. If he/she/they got the password right this time as you say, but usually the pretend they know and will find gullible people, i tell em to do one.

So sorry you were made part of this scheme! It just burns me up that people have time to exhort fear and intimidation on hard working honest people just trying to earn a living. It's the first time I am seeing a porn tape blackmail scam. And how did they arrive at $877 payment? Maybe because a million dollars wouldn't be taken seriously?

This is just another reason we need to be somewhat technologically savvy. We need to employ complex and random passwords, changing them on a rotating basis. We also need to cover up those webcams when not in use just in case someone finds a backdoor into our computers. We need to use malware and anti-virus checkers on our websites and local computers to make sure there are no keystroke loggers or attempts to hijack our platforms. Unfortunately, it is a sign of the times we live in that we need to learn how to technologically protect ourselves.

Thanks for the heads up Loes and glad you were too smart to fall for this scam!

For an "old" person, I am really naive-- But this is jaw-dropping. Good idea on taping the webcam. I always do that too. I don't trust the tv. People are watching. I guess we're watching each other. Maybe because of so many devices that tie into one another, like phone, probably tv, security system, etc., etc., etc., someone could do this. I mean, obviously, someone did do it.
I find his (her) English atrocious, not that that means anything these days.
Anyway, Loes, I am sorry this happened. Thanks for the heads-up.

I recommend using a password manager like Dashlane. They can randomize your passwords so they are not the same across all websites, and also auto-fill.

I got a similar email with correct passwords from OLD accounts from many years ago, but I had changed all my passwords anyway.

It's likely from old forums or dead websites that got hacked. It's only a potential problem if you repeat the same password for every website.

Thanks Nathaniell, I have now changed all my passwords with my own algorithm, password+1, password+2, and added a special character, so nextime, I will know exactly which website is leaking data

You did the right thing in changing your password and that is a great thing but don't answer this person and report it as a scam and then wait and see what happens and I wouldn't worry about what this so-called video has.

Hi Loes,
Sorry this happened to you. As a former English teacher, my first inclination is to edit their work and send it back with a grade and a recommendation for continuing English ed classes. :-)

Wow! I got a similar email a few weeks ago. Probably from the same person because parts of the wording are exactly the same... My take is that this is a woman... very clever and psychological way to turn the sentences and threats...

All I could do was to send her a lot of love, light and blessings...

but it doesn't look like it stopped her from annoying other people....

people like this need all the love, light and blessings we can send them, to bring them back to better ways...

You think that it 's a woman? I don't, a woman wouldn't send a mail like this to another woman, this is something what lives in a mans mind

I think they don't even know we are women! :-) In the email I got, they mentioned an action that only men can visibly do... ;-) Which I am not going to say here.

And in their mind, they probably think they are doing something good by "punishing" the men who go to these type of sites... at some point, people who send these type of messages think that they or/and someone else have been wronged so they are "just" getting something back...

Well, I can't say if this is a woman or a man but, I can say this.

I know many people women and men will do this only to get some money. Personally, I think a lot of women and men would do this.

Imagine if they send this e-mail to 1000's of people and only 10% would pay them.

It's must be a way to earn, otherwise, it's a waste of time, wouldn't it?

Exactly, if people won't fall in their scams...scammers wouldn't exist, right?
