Google is sending phishing emails through ALERTS
Some sites report that Google (for all I know we trust) is sending phishing emails through. Within Google you can set a so-called "alert". This is useful when you want to know if there is news about a certain topic, what is trending, or if something is being written about your own company. Google will then send you an email with a link to the relevant news article. However, cyber criminals now use this service from Google en masse to get users to click on wrong phishing links.
Scammers have found a way into Google Alerts to get their malicious website into this system.
So be aware when you click on a link send to you by Google Alerts. What I have read about this, this mainly concerns the .de, .fr and other foreign extension links. Just check out first from which country/domain name the info is coming before you click.
For all I understand, Google is investigating this right now, but they haven't taken action (yet).

Aren't they just Loes. I had a nightmare with one from Nigeria but lucky they couldnt get into my accounts. It's always best to be on our guard for sure.
I use Google alerts quite a lot as well.
They are a real pain in the butt that's for sure.
