Why You Need To Invest In Your Business
Hello, my wonderful WA family. I hope this finds you well?
I'm struggling with a bad shoulder at the moment which is very painful and stopping me from sleeping.
Hoping the tablets start to work soon!
Now to get back to the topic I'm supposed to be writing about :-)
Why you should invest in your business?
Investment can come in many forms Time, Money, Advice, Training, and staff to name a few.
When starting a blog we have choices to make on many of these options.
Blogging takes time, money, and training to get on the ladders to success.
Choosing the right training can be a minefield with so many choices around and I'm sure most of us have made a bad one at some point.
Here at Wealthy Affiliate, we are in the right place for some of the best training around at a very affordable price.
Investing our time is dependant on how much we want to achieve success. It's also based on our day jobs and how many hours we work at them.
Even if you work 12 hours a day you still have 12 hours left. That means if you only have 1 spare hour every day you should definitely dedicate it to your business.
That's how I started out and it was tough but the achievements are very rewarding and led me to be able to blog full-time within a year.
Investing money in the necessary tools was a no brainer. You don't get ought for nought in this world.
Irrespective of what training you are doing it has to be paid for this is your business so why would you not invest money into it?
If you were starting a new physical business could you do it with no money? Of course not and blogging and affiliate marketing are no different.
That is how I look at it.
By investing in my business I'm also investing in myself and broadening my horizon's every day.
This has made me a better person in so many ways and the investment was totally worth it!
I now have my dream job that can be done anywhere with a WiFi connection and no one can fire me.
That is the best security investment ever.
I'm going to leave you with this quote:
“I cannot tell you on a day to day basis that there’s a return on investment. I can tell you if you stick with it, absolutely in a few months things will start to change. It starts to change slowly. Things start to get a little easier. As the momentum builds it becomes bigger and bigger.” – Simon Sinek
I wish you all a happy FriSatSun my wonderful supportive community.
Stay safe and well.
Lisa is in sunny Tenerife.

Lisa, thank you for this great blog. If we are serious about being successful, then it is a no brainer for us to make the time to invest in our business
It could be just time now if we are just starting out but later on we need to show how much we need to reach our business vision by investing money to buy the necessary tools and training to achieve that vision
Very true Simone. Investing in our business is a way of keeping us going as well.
I gave my blog a year to start seeing traffic and it is now nearly 9 months old and the organic traffic has passed the social media so I know the SEO investment was well worth the time and money spent.
Exciting times ahead :-)
Good morning Lisa,
First of all, I'm sorry that you have a bad shoulder, I do hope you recover extremely quickly.
Secondly, thank you for your blog post, I like and hear your wise words.
I can never understand why people do not want to invest in their business, common sense tells me that we have to invest something for our business to grow. When I see things like; "I didn't know I had to purchase a domain name"! I almost know for sure that a member who says those words is almost doomed for failure. If you cannot afford $10 for a domain name, a business will really struggle!
There's nothing better than investing wisely in our future, the Wealthy Affiliate training does exactly this and offers value.
Sunny Tenerife sounds great, Lisa! I always struggle when I first come back from Greece, as the temperatures are around 32° at the moment, they will start to drop in a couple of weeks. Here in East Anglia, today's maximum temperature is 18° C, that's a big difference.
Although Greece has a winter, I know for sure it's going to be much shorter than the UK winter!
Have a great day and get better quickly.
Roy
I'm with you on all points Roy.
When the temperature drops from 40 degrees to 20 it feels cold to us but the holidaymakers think it's very warm.
My shoulder is feeling better today :-)
Thanks for stopping by my friend.
Lisa.
Good morning Lisa,
Thank you for your reply, it's good news that you are feeling better.
I don't think the majority of people realise how cheap it actually is to create an online business compared with an offline business! There really are many, many advantages.
It's amazing how locals get accustomed to warm weather, I know what my wife and her family are like! Something we do know is that Spain and Greece are normally warmer than the UK!
Have a great Sunday.
Roy
I believe you're right Lisa, I think you made a great move to Spain! I have spoken to a few Polish people they believe that the UK weather is colder than Poland! Not by temperature, but more by how it feels, that damp, penetrating cold!
Enjoy sunny Spain, I think I need to seriously think about that move to Greece with my wife!
Have a great day.
Roy
Hi Lisa,
Investing in our business (and in ourselves) is the best decision each one of us can make. If you do it right, it'll provide significant return(s) on investment.
I agree with your points on making bad choices early on while dedicating time each day to our business. I know it's challenging for me sometimes, but I manage to invest some time each day. It's better than doing nothing or making no progress at all.
A wonderful post thank you for sharing :)
All the best,
Eric
We are the best investment Eric that is for sure. Yes, it can be difficult but that makes us stronger and more determined.
I appreciate you stopping by and wish you a fantastic weekend :-)
Lisa.
So true my friend! Without investing in ourselves then we won't get very far.
Whether it is time, money, tools, hardware, software, or even a quick mojito by the pool, we must all invest in the ways that help us move forward with our businesses and of course, lives.
Sorry to hear about your shoulder Lisa, I hope you recover quickly and enjoy a wonderful weekend!:-)
Hey ambassador Nick, thank you for stopping by my friend. The tablets have kicked in finally and my shoulder feels okay for now.
Have a great weekend,
Lisa.
An anti-inflammatory and Tramadol for the pain. I have Calcification of the tendon and when it flares up it hurts like hell.
Sorry to hear that my friend, sounds painful.
Anytime I've been prescribed Tramadol I have been suffering from an extremely painful condition, it depends on the dose prescribed of course, but has at times sent me a little loopy! (So I've been told!)
Take care of yourself Lisa!
It just kills the pain for me I only take it for 2 or 3 days and then that's it until the next time luckily it's only a small dose.
Happy to say it feels okay today :-)

All the best with the shoulder Lisa, that's an incredibly inconvenient spot for computer work too which could be frustrating I'm sure!
Couldn't agree with you more either, aside from obviously our children etc, what could be better to invest in than the BELIEF, determination, and gumption of ourselves to see our goals through to full fruition.
You are definitely an inspiration on here, so always good to read your updates from over there in paradise! :-)
Thanks very much for stopping by Matty. I appreciate your encouragement :-)
