Have you changed anything since the Google update?
Hello All of you wonderful people.
When Google does it’s regular
Updates do you change the way
You do things.
As a newbie I’m interested to
Know if you change the amount
of words written for your website?
I haven’t changed anything, I’m
Still writing a minimum of 1,000 words.
In very rare instances the article
Would look stuffed and false
so it might be a little shorter.
We have had some respite
from the full on sun today.
It’s been very cloudy for 95%
Of the day.
I know when you are from the
UK you crave the sun as I used to
but when it’s there every day you
crave a break from it every now and
then.
Have a great rest of your day and be safe.

Hey Lisa, I have a couple articles that are less than 1,000 words and are have been indexed. I write until my thoughts run out. If I find something later that pertains to one of my articles, I'll go back and do an update. I wouldn't consider you a newbie anymore either lol:)
I have a couple as well Joe. There was nothing else to say. They have been indexed. This will be my 5th month here.
Thank you very much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts my friend 🤩
When Google decides to do a small ripple I do nothing but listen to the chatter. These events happen over 100 times a year but 2-3 times a year there will be a big shift that may affect things like inbound links, or new mobile-ready demands, new semantic indexing, or scheme requirements and you will need to first see the holes and then plug them with small moves. I too like talking to friends over coffee and get that feel from your post.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts my friend.
I like talking over coffee with you all☕️🤩
The only thing that is safe and not affected by Google's constant updates is what they teach here: Unique, Quality, Content! :)
My friend paid $600 for a 'making money online' course (one of the 17 million on offer), the selling point being the old regurgitated content from Ezine, eArticles, etc. So 2016!!
Speed has always mattered (just think how you respond when a page takes forever to load, you click away, no? All Google has done is to make it official!
I'm really pleased I found you lot (quite by accident too)!

Hey Lisa,
I always wait a little bit to let Google's changes settle. A lot of times there is nothing I need to do because I've learned over the years to write for my audience and then optimize for Google. Most of the time, all my sites have weathered the Google storms but I always wait at least a week to see it all shake out then I'll reassess and chat with others to see what they are seeing. Yesterday's changes were definitely crazy!!! So many low quality sites were in the first 5 positions and quality sites no where to be found. But then this morning, quality sites back up and garbage sites back to the bottom.
It's always fun trying to figure it all out. But I can say one thing about SEO...content will always be King and the more you write for your audience, THEN optimize for the Search Engines, it's a win/win. It's everything WA teaches and that's why I love this community.
Be Blessed,
Audrey

Thanks for your comment Audrey; I love the idea of writing for the audience and then optimising for Google.
The audience should always come first.
Rick
You're very welcome! :)
You're welcome Rick! This has been my motto since I started SEO back in 1999! If you always keep the end user in mind and truly help them, they will come back and a lot of times you will get links back to your site because your content really helped them.
Plus, when you do it over and over again, you'll know what Google is looking for so you'll automatically start doing that in every article as your writing.
Thanks for the follow and I've followed you back.
Be Blessed,
Audrey
