Annoying site comments.
Hello wonderfully supportive WA family.
I hope you are all well.
Managed to get some sleep Yay, feeling a bit more human now. Life takes over and can knock you for 6 as has been the case for the last week. So far this morning I have written the titles for 7 new post ideas and dealt with 100 emails.
Then I came to look at the site comments that have been received. Oh Deary Me. Going to share my dillemma with you All.
Subject blood pressure review.

My question to you all, would you reject them all. If you would, what would you put as the reason for the rejection. Normally i try to make them make sense by correcting the spelling and punctuation, but i think these are beyond help.

These comments have already taken up more of your time than they deserve. They are generic in nature and I would imagine that half a dozen or more other articles have had similar comments left on them.
Reject them all and continue to reject them, maybe that way those that are 'playing the system' will realise that it is their own time that is being wasted.
You're very welcome, it's an annoyance and frustrating but rejecting them is the best thing to do as eventually, they will be unable to leave any comments.
Wow, some people just really don't care about anything but making money.
I would reject the comment, also let them know in a private message with a copy of the comment that they need to do the training... (with a link) on how to review a post in comments.

Definitely reject.
The comments don’t make sense and extremely poorly composed. What are they doing, just filling in the word content, so it gets posted?
If not rejected, wouldn’t this also impact on the quality and credibility of what your website is all about?
Reject and give a quick explanation why, may be good.
(Although your time is precious keep it very short !)

It is such a great tool. Is tool the right word?
Carson and Kyle have provided this, not to just earn a little money, but also to expose many of us to what is out there, what we can do, what other members of WA are doing, it has become really a learning tool, giving us ideas, formats, and also the ability to comment on WA members websites, their passions, their beliefs and show support, personal interest, etc.
And there are still people out there, who only want to collect, if they possibly can!!

I agree with Kyle. I have seen a similar problem when asking for help from the community. People repeat what you've already been told. I see it as gaming the system to improve rank on WA. It's BS and I'm going to call people out on it...as nicely as I can.
The problem for us is these "gamesters" are wasting everyone's time for a free WA lunch.
I like RichBrennan's article about this problem. It's highlighted in his comment above.
In the article, Rich suggests there may be a time lag for people on the other side of the world, and they may not see the answer that came in prior to theirs, that happens to be the very same answer.
Anyone know if this is true? I'd like to know if I shouldn't be pointing it out because people are genuinely responding, not just parroting to get their WA rankings up.
Hi - I don't think that holds any weight as regards the time delay. No matter when you see a post or question you can see the answers already given and at what time they were answered. So, if the answers are given several hours apart offering the same information, it's pointless.
However, I often see a brand new unanswered question, and by the time I have written out my answer and posted it, several others may have answered at the same time, which is just coincidence.
There is no point in gaming the system for WA ranking, there is nothing to be gained, even as an Ambassador.
I agree with you Diane. sometimes i go to a question that has no answer and by the time i have answered another answer is there. sometimes they are very similar.
Sometimes i go to the question and follow it for the answer because i know it's going to help me.
That's fine, if you are commenting because you genuinely want to know the answer.
It only becomes a problem if you are the first person to comment, as it then shows that the question has been answered and other members may skip it, thinking an answer has been given.
In that case, you should add the post to your bookmarks, so you can look at it later for the answers, rather than commenting just to follow it.
Hello Lisa, Sounds like the comments I have gotten. It's pathetic. I received two comments once that were exactly alike--word for word. I assumed the second one was the copier and rejected him.
I had another who thanked me for giving him so much information about dogs. Problem was, the post was about cats! Rejected him and suggested he pay more attention to what he was reading.
I don't have very much luck with site Comments. One of my fellow WA friends suggested that my niche wasn't of much interest to members of the community. I'm not sure I can buy that-- there seem to be several folks here with niches about pets.
I haven't gotten ranked yet, but google has indexed almost all of my posts. I don't know what that means exactly, except that Google knows I am here.
Nobody said that things would be easy.

I feel your pain my friend. If i get a post i read it through and if it's not of interest i don't leave a comment.
As far as indexing and ranking. Being indexed means google has found your content and it's on the internet for all to find. When it's ranked to begin with it maybe on page 10 for example. As time goes by and you add more content to your site and google sees you as an authority then your posts move to other pages ( ranking). We all need to rank on page 1 to get traffic. This can take 9 months to happen.

Hi Lisa, glad Kyle given you great answer, I had gotten one that didn’t make sense to me, and I rejected it, when I did, a question came up for reason of rejection, and I gave it, and that was the end of that.

Yes, I would reject these comments. They are not quality, and the people leaving them are likely attempting to game the system. If your content are "templated" like this, and not speaking to the subject matter I would recommend that you reject them.
That will limit their availability and use within the platform, as we have quality criteria that folks must meet with their comments.
Do know that people are sent a message on EVERY rejection with instructions on how to properly leave a comment within SiteComments, so if they don't improve after one rejection, then they simply are not going through the training. Reject with explanation and move on.
It's good that it's recognized when people are trying to game the system within Site Comments, Kyle, and that there are ways to place restrictions on people who attempt to do so.
I'm wondering if it would be possible to have some way of restricting or penalizing the small but annoying minority of Community Members who misuse the Classrooms for the same reason, as I wrote about in this blog post I did a while back Questions From The WA Community - Answering vs Responding It's pretty obvious what these people are doing and I feel it devalues the Platform and the ranks they hold within it.
