Hi I want to go into the cannabis niche, I'm from the UK and its still illegal over here but things are slowly changing. Do you think its still too competitive or even worth it

It is booming in the US. There are hundreds of companies here selling CBD and you can be affiliates with several at a time! I also know that cannabis is legal in many states here in the US. I currently am doing this with CBD oil. I received my first commission check within my first 120 days here at WA. You just have to make sure that any agreements you have don't have non compete. Simple affiliate links with a referral code are usually safe. Any accounts that you build an account and buy cbd from, you usually can only deal with them.

I say do it! I can give you some great comments and we can help each other out.

Thanks so much for your reply and advice, I’ve currently started a website, just going to start writing content on it offer some value then start doing affiliate links as I haven’t signed up to any affiliate programs yet, Iv been looking at a few.
Also that’s some good advice about some CBD companies only let you promote their product I didn’t know this so thanks for that 👍

That sounds good too I’d love to help you out once I start getting ranked, and all the help I could get would definitely be welcomed ☺️

Hello from Nottingham! I don't think it's a very good idea, given that it is still illegal here. Even a disclaimer might not protect you from legal action. Plus, it would be seen as an adult topic, so you would need an age verification gateway to stop anybody underage from being able to access your content.

Have you considered CBD instead, which is legal and a hot topic right now? There are lots of affiliate programmes for it. Every niche has some competition, but that's a good thing. It means there is a demand for the products.

Hey thanks for the reply, yes CBD is the thing id be promoting on the website, and selling seeds isn't illegal but don't know if its worth it, and there's so many websites doing the same thing and as I'm a beginner it may be to hard to get ranked.

Hi - you could focus on a narrow aspect of it, such as edibles, or skincare, or pet products. Providing you understand keyword research and can write, original and informative content, then it will be possible to rank.

However, no matter what niche you choose, it can take up to 6 months before any of your posts start ranking highly.

ok thank you for your input it has been very helpful, I will take hat you said into consideration 😊

Hi, is this something you are passionate about and can write lots of content? Or you are choosing it for other reasons.

Mind you I would not know if legal / illegal however I'd advise consulting with a professional in this matter.

I'm passionate about it because of the health benefits behind it, and I can write lots of content I just need to be careful and put disclaimers up because it is still illegal in the UK, I just don't want to go into something that's to competitive for my first website.

I understand and appreciate, however just to be safe seeing a pro in regards to advice you further.

You can run a search

Cannabis + affiliate programs + UK and see what you find or assess the competitiveness.

ok Thanks for your advice 😊

You're welcome. Hope you find what you are looking for, however Diane has a valid point.
