If I would advise using one plugin, it surely is the 'Broken link checker'. I think that this is not only good for SEO to have no broken links on your site, but also if an affiliate link is broken, that is leaving money on the table;-)
I am happy with the plugin called 'broken link checker', it is easy to use and I get an email every time that one is broken and I need to fix it. Are you using one?
