GOOGLE MUST BE A WOMAN...

BECAUSE SHE IS SO DARN HARD TO UNDERSTAND.

Come on now, don't you agree?

I get good traffic getting consistent referrals in May then first half of June so far has just been decreasing traffic... then yesterday's traffic jumps up and almost doubles the previous day.

What the heck?!

My work has not changed and have been publishing 4 posts a week, every week! Come on Google, when will you give me a break?!

I can only hope that one day, I see just increasing trends!!!

This sums up my relationship with Google:

I use this image often when I blog about my frustrations with blogging. LOL

Please tell me I'm not the only one here feeling Google's a B****!

I hope she can be my friend one day. :)

Back to work,

Grace

UPDATE:

When I posted this, it was really about my frustrations with SEO organic traffic, specifically from Google.

It's not really a post about men vs women, or that women are weak or anything in the realm of those terms.

If you were offended, then I'm sorry you have misunderstood this whole post.

For me to work day in and day out on my site and then to have Google play with my rankings, up and down, it's frustrating and I know only members of this awesome community could understand.

If I can't joke around and let these frustrations fester in me, it would not be good for my morale or my business. This is a place where I thought I can let out my frustrations and vent.

Maybe I chose the wrong words about women, but heck, I don't understand myself sometimes. Why I am moody, why I let Google Analytics drive my emotions up the walls, or why I am so hard for my husband to understand me. So, that's why I chose to say Google is a Woman if I was to put a gender to it, because I know how I can be myself at times.

But you don't see the other side of it, which this post was NOT about... But why I say Google must be a woman, is also because Google is a FORCE to be reckon with, Google is a challenge for all of us, Google is high and mighty, we all want page 1 of Google, Google is a leader, Google is THE place you want to be, Google influences, Google is strong, Google is many of the positive aspects of what a woman stands for.

But I didn't say all that because that's not what this post was about.

I'm a woman, doesn't mean I'm perfect, neither is Google, neither are men, neither is anyone.

I just needed a laugh with my friends here, that's all this post was about and to let out some steam.

OUCH.

I am a woman. Proud to be a woman.

Let's find a different way of identifying Google.

Hugs to you Littlemama.

Don't let anyone make you think you are anything but wonderful as a woman!

We are human. Women might have a flaw or two, but the positives far out weigh those tiny little negatives!!! :) :)

I agree, it can be frustrating working with all this technology.

Susan

See my response in my update.

...and a different way of identifying women ;)

Yes, I agree.

We can poke fun at ourselves, as individuals, but we need to be careful not to include others when we do that.

I believe the comments were meant to be funny not hurtful, unfortunately, those comments propagate an attitude towards women that we don't want.

I like the alien identification. That is a safe one.

Susan

LOL.

I love that image that you use to illustrate frustrations with Google and the computer.

Thanks Sondra! Glad it made you laugh. :)

so you are saying that as a woman YOU are hard to understand and moody?

This gender stereotyping is not accurate for all women, nor in the least bit funny. At rank 33 you should consider that I would leave WA if more people posted posts like you have just done, and this is the second one in a week...

Your attitude is why women in Ireland are paid much less than men even when they are better at their job and better qualified. If I were a man I'd be tempted to think that is a correct thing to do when women play into the stereotype with posts like this.

I also posted on whether google is a man or a woman but showed that the behavior is both, and here is a video that asks WHO you are in a relationship

E&P - Emotional and Physical Sexuality - Who You Are in Relationships

Mary,

I'm sorry that her post upset you. As a professional woman, working in the US, I am grateful that women and men are not identical creatures.

I've worked with lots of guys while in the US military in electronics and intelligence fields. As a certified public accountant and real estate broker, I've occupied more traditional female roles. I know that I can do what I want and succeed.

Sometimes it is fun to just be able to laugh. As a blonde, I love dumb blonde jokes. I will even highlighting my "dingy" moments with a dumb blonde joke. Yet, I am confident enough to know that I am smart and capable.

I have chatted with Grace via email multiple times and she is also extremely smart, organized and confident. Thus, she is able to laugh and have fun with sterotypes also.

Thank you Sondra, appreciate you always. :)

See my response in my update.

Are you getting paid less for being blonde? If I were to say your response was a bit blonde would you still find it funny? Words have a life of their own, it doesn't really matter what a person believes outside of their words, they need to use those words carefully and if you both want to go laugh at gender stereotypes then I am more than confident enough to suggest this isn't the platform for it.

We are not laughing at gender stereotypes, are making fun of women's rights, or what women are being paid less. Please read my update again.

If this post was not appropriate on this platform, Kyle or Carson would have taken it off by now.

Google is one of the most successful companies in the world so the comparision didn't upset me even though I liked the comment about Google being an alien the best.

To be honest, Grace's analogy reminded me of the relationship advise book, "Men are from Mars and Women are From Venus" by John Grey that was very popular in the US a few years back. As the book points out, sometimes it is hard to understand the opposite sex. Likewise, sometimes it is hard to understand Google.

No, I would not find it offensive if you feel that my response was that of a dumb blonde because my life experiences in sales, the business world, Afghanistan and in the military in general have toughened me up - for better or worse.

I also believe that I was fairly compensated while I was in the military and in my professional career. At the same time, the Uber scandals that have come to light are a perfect example that sexual harassment and discrimination do exist. So Mary, I admire your willingness to look out for women's rights.

I sincerely wish you the best as you build your online business.

I don't think it's man or woman. It's an alien from another planet. Wish it would go back there.

You're probably right!! Maybe I should have used that instead. Geesh.

Hahaha... I never thought of that :)

Well, glad you didn't, for your sake. Lol

Hehehe

Think its transsexual because after being with a woman for over 11 years you'd think I would have Google all figured out if it was female! :p

Maybe you're right! :)

No Grace,
Google must be a man, it's so hard to get what you want from him!

Lol hmmm I don't know Google is quite moody.

Hi grace, very funny but true at the same time. Irv.

Thanks Irv, and glad you agree!

Ok that is funny Grace....you got me laughing cause it's true.

Thanks! Glad you got a laugh out of it!! Something positive must come out of this! Lol

lol great article!

Glad you liked! :)
