The sitemap is good for completeartattack.com but there is no sitemap recognized for www.completeartattack.com Do I need to submit a sitemap for it too? Is so How? Also

Hi Lin and how are you doing. I haven't heard from you for quite a wee while.
Ok for your sites.
Yes You Have To Submit A Sitemap For Every Site You Create.

Also it is always best to use the HTTP. Mainly because the majority of search engines and especially google don't use the WWW now.

One more tip.

It is always best if you submit your site after you have published a new page/post. This way there is a better chance of your page/post being indexed.
I take it you haven't been doing that, hence the low number of pages/posts indexed.

You should have sent me a PM much earlier Lin now you have some work to do.

Have an excellent day whatever you're doing or about to do.
Catch you later.
Robert

Do you only need to do this once or does each page/post need a sitemap? I don't think so but it's always good to check in with you Robert!

Hi Robert! Yes, I have been busy, but I finally got into a frame of mind to tackle GA and WMT. I did verify the completeartattack.com site and the www.completeartattack.com as you could see from my attachments. You are saying I need to add and verify http://completeartattack.com now?

Should I get rid of the www one? Can I simply Submit a Sitemap ONCE for each of the sites as would that not include all my posts? I only have 14 posts and 4 pages.

Thank you for your response Robert.

One of these days I'll get it right.

Hi Helen. One Sitemap per website, but you have to have one for each site you create.
Have an excellent day.
Robert

Hi Lin. You say in your initial question you have 247 URLs submitted and yet you only have 14 posts and 4 pages therefore you only have 18 altogether. Where did the rest come from?

Lin you have one website but with both versions of the URL address.

Your actual website in whatever form the URL is does have a sitemap which you have submitted therefore everything is ok as it stands just now.

It will depend on what URL form you submitted your sitemap with that will ultimately depend on what individual posts/pages gets indexed from your website.

I would personally get rid of the www URL address you have submitted if indeed you done this and change the option to the http:/ one.

Get back to me if you need any more help.
Meantime you have a nice day.
Robert

Thanks Robert.

Robert you just confirmed my thoughts. Thanks

Your pic could be Scotland. Very similar scenery.
Robert

I thought that we had to tell google which url we wanted. I used the one without http or www Now I'm really confused.

No just once is enough. Actiually your site should start with http:// not www. As far as I know.

I'm told that the image is being downloaded 100% but it does not appear.

Over here it isn't WA issues its the b....y connection system. I think all this rain has affected the phone cables! I keep losing posts as the connection drifts in and out. Fortunately they are on Word but I am going to leave out the putting them on WA until the rain stops!

Carson says they are doing a major upgrade to the WA site.

I had problems this morning uploading an image to a blog. Not sure if they are having problems or what.

Anyone having trouble downloading profile image?

I see that some people don't use the share button for Facebook. Is it because having someone LIKE your post ensures that all future posts will land on their FB page?

Share is the way to go, it makes things a lot easier.

Thank you everyone for commenting!

I have the share buttons, because I find it very handy to use for my own purpose to share new articles:)

I agree with Marc. More people see it if you share.

I think both are good. A like as you said ensured the future posts will land on their page. Sharing ensures others will see it increasing the chances of more clicks.

Thanks Marc.

I verified two versions of my website. They were verified 4 months ago and when I went there today they are shown unverified. Any ideas?

If you verified your website by editing your theme then when your theme gets updated your verification is lost. It's better to verify using FTP ~Marion

Oh...that makes sense. However we have had 3 upgrades since I first verified them and this is the first time that happened.

Thank you Marion. I redo it.

I have Iconic One Theme and it has built in social media buttons. I need to change the FB icon from link to Share. I want to Add a Pinterest icon. Are you a coder? Can you se

I think adding a plugin is much more simpler then meddling with codes. There are tonnes of plugins and you can just change plugins whenever you want.

Hello Linda,

Claire already gave you some great advice, but I just want to mention a few things. That code change is a little too involved. And those extra features that you want are included in the pro version of your theme already; though I'm not sure how well they would work. Plus social sharing features need to constantly evolve, making plugins a lot better for the job versus features built into a theme; since themes are not updated nearly as often. Most themes that offer social sharing buttons usually make the options very simplified in an attempt to avoid extra layers of complexity in the code.

I know you hate to hear this, but again like Claire already said, you really need a good social sharing plugin. I personally use Share Buttons by AddToAny. I like Simple Share Buttons by Adder as well.

I hope this helps. Take care.

Thank you Claire and Mathews.

No problem :) Good luck choosing a suitable tool for the job!

Unfortunately, you need another plugin. I don't think it's advisable to change the code of the theme unless you create a child theme and, even then, the placement of the follow buttons is familiar to people so they wouldn't necessarily know what you had done.

Don't panic about the number of plugins you've got for something like this.

I use filament and shareaholic if you want to check them out, but there are a huge amount to choose from. Just make sure you get something with decent reviews that has been updated regularly and recently.
