Hoping a Little Success Will Go a Long Way
I have heard lots of success stories this week and have been encouraged by all of them. I am always so happy when anyone here achieves success. But I have to admit that I have been a little discouraged that I haven't been able to share a success story with all of you. I felt even more discouraged when I checked my Google Analytics and had only two site visitors yesterday.
Then I decided to check to see if I had ranked anywhere close to the first or second page of Google for any keywords. I couldn't find anything on the first page for keywords I have targeted, but lo and behold, I am on the second page for one post with targeted keywords. At the bottom of the second page, but nevertheless, the second page.
I know the second page is not terrific, especially with only one post, but today, that gave me the tiny little boost I needed to keep going.
I only have 12 posts on my site so far, so I guess ranking on the 2nd page for one out of 12 is not too bad. I really feel unsure about whether I really know what I am doing or not.
Did any of you feel this way early on, but see more success and more traffic the more keywords you targeted and the more posts you wrote? I really hope that is typically the norm and not the exception.
I have not even finished all the certification trainings yet, but I am trying to let this little ranking on page 2 of Google spur me on to work even harder and achieve a ranking on page one. Hoping that a little success will go a long way!

Hey there, Linda. Ok, in my country, there is a saying, "A watched pot never boils". Don't keep looking about the ranking, et al. Just concentrate on writing your content. The key is consistency and persistence. Continued success.

Yes, I know that saying! It is very true. Actually, I have not checked rankings much until today, but I do keep looking at my Google Analytics. I think I will refrain from looking at that for a few weeks, then see what happens. Thanks, Michelle!
Yes, good idea. I will drive you crazy. Maybe you can limit it to once a week for now. Be patient with yourself and your progress.

Hey Linda. You should always bear in mind that search engine ranking isn't fixed, as you add more-and-more content so your site becomes an authority in your niche, your aggregate overall ranking for all your posts will increase. Hopefully, it won't be too long before that post which is currently listed on the bottom of page two, becomes the post that's at the top of page one. :) Rich.
