Comment I wrote to Chrison on first blog Massive Value

Have you ever heard the song, "The Teddy's Bears Picnic"? Well if you haven't it doesn’t matter. My Mother wrote the song. She uses to sing it to me when I was little. And I am just remembering it. I don't remember the lyrics. Your word resonate to me because it feels like it was written just for me. Behind your tones, I hear my mother and I am hearing "The Teddy Bears Picnic" all over again.

Massive Value Defined

Back to part four, Ok Chris I would like to tell you about my Teddy Bear. We all knew him just as Teddy, the same color as your Teddy the same glass eyes. I don't remember where he came from.

We were 6 children I was the second born. there were 4 boys and two girls. I bring the second and a girl had to look after the littler ones. I don't remember when I started doing this. I looked after Teddy but always but him to bed with the little ones because he cuddled with them and made them feel safe.

In the morning I would get Teddy and put him away so that he would be there at night to put the littlest ones to bed it was a fight to see how was going to sleep with Teddy, by this time he had gone through four small children and I was getting bigger and wasn't as diligent with poor Teddy.

One day his right eye was missing I had to find it. I looked everywhere and it didn't show. The littlest was devastated and so was I, Teddy only had one eye. the others started wailing also and everybody look for Teddy's eye with no luck and no buddy wanted to sleep with Teddy because they though he was looking at them wrong. So I sang the song Teddy's Bear Picnic to them, but poor Teddy had to sleep with me because nobody wanted him.

Cleaning up the room over the weekend because we were four in the room twin beds a crib and child’s bed with half railing, moving everything I found Teddy’s eye. It was only glued on in the first place so I went looking for glue the only kind I found was school glue. The kind kids used at school for gluing paper it made a mess but it stayed on for a bit.

Then he showed up with a ripped arm and the stuffing was falling out I found a safety pin that permitted to make him look OK. Then his eye started to hang and I didn't have any glue.

Teddy got stuffed away and forgot about. Long story short I found him many years later sitting on a WA blog where nobody could hurt him ever again. and the "Teddy Bear Picnic" came alive again.

Hi Linda, a great post. Irv.

Thanks Ivine I noticed you at Chris's post keep working at it you will be OK

Oh my goodness Linda, The Teddy Bear's Picnic was an important part of my childhood (and beyond)!!! "If you go out in the woods today, you'd better go in disguise, if you go out in the woods today you'd better go by surprise....for this is the day the teddy bears have their picnic".

Thank your lovely Mom for this dear childhood memory!
PatSID

Thank you so much, Pat, for bringing the words back to me I could only remember "for this is the day the teddy bears have their picnic."

My mother was but 6 years old and she was told never go out to the wood along because there are always bears around at this time of the year.

She was a freckly faced real red head with Sherrie Temple curls. She had no notion of danger she thought it would neat to meet up with the baby bears as it was at the time of the cubs coming out of their hibernation.

She came across a mother bear and her two cubs that were playing in the field and she went running out to meet them and was stopped in her tracks by the Mother bear. I mother had a very special gift she could hear the animals. she never thought this strange she thought everybody could do it.

The mother bear said, "I will not hurt you, child". My mother said "I only want to play with the cubs", "you cannot do that child they have no notion of their strength and could hurt you very badly" She stayed with the mother bear the better part of the afternoon watching the Cubs play. Mom told us, kids, a most wondrous story about bear life that the mother bear shared with her.

This is where the Teddy Bear picnic derived from, I never had to doubt the veracity of her story’s about other animals. Many years later I found a book that talked about many people that have been able to communicate with the animal world.

Mom explained it as wavelengths. All the animals have their own level of wavelengths, for this reason, we can't hear them. The human wavelength being the high set of them all, For some reason, she was able to come down to this level of communicating. It was only in a given circumstance that this happened because it didn't happen always.

So thank you again for helping bring back these wonderful memories Pat it has been many years know that they have been swept under a carpet. Chris helped bring them back yesterday when I went to his blog.

Linda

Linda, thanks so much for sharing this absolutely lovely story with me! I love the sound of your mother, and I feel very close to her and you now after hearing this story. I too believe in all sorts of communications with all life forms, lovely!

Rest of the song:
"Picnic time for teddy bears, the little teddy bears are having are wonderful time tonight. See them gaily dance around, they always seem to have a holiday (repeat). At six o'clock their mummies and daddies will take them home to bed, because they're tired little teddy bears!"

I must tell my sisters (who also remember this song) that I met you! They'll be thrilled!
Pat

I am saving this in my log book Pat Thank you
Linda

You're welcome Linda.

That is such a wonderful story!! :) Thank you for bringing back a part of my children's early years for me, since they're all adults now! The funny thing is, my daughter who is 23 now started talking about that song the other day, and how much she loved that song the most from her childhood! So we found it on youtube with Ann Murray singing it, and that's the version we listened too, until I knew the words off by heart and could sing it to them! :)

i like the story about teddy. Thank you
