Time Off to Sharpen the Saw
Have you ever heard of taking time off to sharpen the saw? Or have you ever tried to saw a board with a dull saw? If you don't sharpen the saw you waste a lot of time and energy.
Well, sometimes our minds get dull and need time off. I took the last week of June off to do some music composing. It was an interesting week as I was on a deadline to enter a competition by July 1st, and I only found out about the submission date 1 week before. You can read about it at

I just wanted to share the fact that sometimes it's good to take time off to sharpen our mind by doing something we enjoy doing, not that we don't enjoy this of course. I sincerely do hope you find enjoyment from your activities here at Wealthy Affiliates. I do for sure. This has become part of my life.
I love the community here and building a network of like-mended friends. We each have our own niche and we each are using the same training and have basically the same goal in mind: to be of service to others by being successful in building an online presence and possibly make an income from it. Part of that comes about by being willing to
- Read each others blogs and training
- Learn from each other
- Like and
- Comment on our "family's" blogs and posts.
- Service to others and
- Share our knowledge with one another
RLLCSS a new acronym for me to remember. Hope you like it too as we all continue our journey here at Wealthy Affiliates.

That is for sure, We all do need to take a break. Even tho I lost ground rank-wise, I had gained it back and then some today by 30 points. And I'm writing much easier.
Linda I absolute love, love, love, love this post. Also the acronym is so cool! You have such a unique way of writing. Looking forward to hearing your music. I wish you lived close to me. I have words to a Christian song I wrote when I was in my twenties and now need the music written for it.
Peace💗
Thanks for your kind, kind words. Where are you located? We could be next door neighbors and don't know it. Send me the words and let me think about it. I have to wait for inspiration.
Did you see my story about how this song came about on my link above? Pretty incredible.
Linda
Girl I know.the music i can't write it out. I'm going to sleep now. I'll try to remember to private msg you later today.
Peace💗
You can hum it( dum ta dum dum style) out on your smartphone and text it over. That's how I recorded my tune the first time. Put it on video and just record your voice. I could put it on music paper for you. I used to have Finale for the Apple computer, but then we went PC windows style and the program didn't transfer over. There are electronic music writers, that you can have it played and the computer will write it professionally for you. They can even put in the words on those programs. My handwritten music is like chicken scratching, that's why I got my grandson to transcribe it for me. I was lucky he even had the time because he is so busy. I guess it was because I'm his Grandma. Right? LOL
Hi Linda,
Great post. Yes it is important to take a time off to sharpen that saw.
All the best,
Michael
Welcome to WA. You will receive everything you need here. Just complete the training and then ask questions as you get "stumped" and need additional help. I like to read as many of the training that the members give too. They are priceless.
I'm following you now. I wish you the best as you start your journey!

Hi Linda,
Hope the competition goes well for you.
Yeah, it's a good thing to take a break off from the usual life. It refreshes and reawakens the spirit.
That is the focus of my niche, I promote well being through holiday and leisure on my website.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

The competition is submitting a hymn for a hymnbook. They only do this every 50 to 60 years so this was my last chance to be considered. I don't want to live to be 125 or 130 years old
What is your link to your site?

Hi Linda, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I like your site and read some of your posts, it is an interesting topic for me. Are you planning on sharing programs or ways to write music? Keep up the good work and look forward to hearing more on your journey.
Ray
Thanks for your comments. I really hadn't thought of music in terms of composing or writing it. I had thought of doing a site
with my self created Group Performance Class, however. We play musical games and then the last half hour the students perform for each other and their parents. I have to get my affiliate site producing before I can do the music thing. That will be labor intensive to create webinars and materials to sell.
Best of luck to you,
Linda
I would think that there are some affiliate programs available on the web that you can promote, besides creating your own... Keep up the good work.
Ray
Do you have some suggestions for affiliate programs?
I did a google search ["music theory" and "affiliate"] and it came up with lots of links. Try some searches and include "affiliate" that should give you some ideas of what is available.
Hope this helps.
Ray
Yes, I had one pop onto my screen two days ago. I think I'll use it in my studio and develop a program around it. Funny how when the student is ready the teacher appears.
thanks,
Linda
