How do I fix my google search console problem?
Too often we think we can figure out the answer, so we try and try and if we'd only asked for help, someone would have had the answer all along. I'm talking to myself right now because I have been struggling with this all weekend, and am no closer to the answer. So here goes.
How do I find my tracking code for google search console after I established it, and then my computer got shut down and I lost the page. It goes on the ad plug in and then on google analytics I think. I am set up with Google analytics but they say no hits are coming to my site and to link with google search console to fix the problem.

See I told you there would be someone who would know the answer to your problem.
Have a blessed night.

I wish I could help you, but I haven't gotten that far in my training. I'm sure is someone here who knows.
Good answers already. If you have a problem in the future with just one site, remove it and add again. Usually works.
Linda type this into the search box at the top of the page
setup google analytics and google console
You will get a few helpful suggestions
Hey Linda - as you say if you are struggling then it is worth ust asking for help
for google verification in easy steps it is worth watching my training Google verification in four easy steps espeially if you are going on to add adsense to your site - the plugin recommended also allows you to ad ads.txt and setup ads to be placed where you want them on your site
have fun

it does take a while to get the data coming through and in search console you can verify whether you are verified
That was only a few minutes after I asked the question Phil, How much better can we get than that for response time? My problem is finding that html code that comes below the tracking #. Where do I find that now?
if you goto search console you will get a list down the side of verified and not verified sites
if your is the not verified site then click on it and a panel will pop up
with this panel you will see that is says to verify your site via dns - and as we don't get access to a cpanel(control panel) then click on the try url proprerty instead
this will open the familiar panel you saw first time around - copy your url for your site to the right hand panel - ignore that it says www. just add youe site url and click next and it should give you the code to add to ad inerter
but before all that you need the number from google analytics
so log into your ga account and click on admin ( right down the bottom)
in the center panel click on the property and make sure it is the one you want
click on tracking info and then on tracking code and you will find the UA-xxxx number
bit long winded to get to the bit you want - sorry
but wrote the other bit first
hope this sorts it

Phil, What link do you use to log into google search console? They are sending me links to join and I think I'm already joined.
if you have already joined then just go there and login
you should be heading for search.google.com
and login
Thanks again! I did not find the activate button on my code insert, so the green light did not come on and it said "not enabled"
Do I have to delete this code and start over?
if you click the grey light it should turn green and activate that section
i take it you are talking about ad inserter
I have had a day away from the computer, at the doc's, visit my sick daughter, piano lessons, so am just getting back to this
Yes, ad inserter. Did you just know this intuitively or did you have to struggle at first?
Oh, what would I do without you? Thanks so much.
Linda
Yay, the light turned green. It still says "Code in the <head></head> section of the HTML page NOT ENABLED." Is that normal?
it threw me for a moment as to what you were talking about but going through the perocess in my head i got there - the only green button in the process.
ok the bit i forgot to say was to click on save settings after clicking the button - this will get rid of the not enabled and you should be able to verify your site.
always get into the habit of looking for a save - update or other button within wordpress to acknowledge your changes.
even if you don't make any i tend to click update if it is a settings page.
i hope this gets you verified Linda.
I did save settings AFTER clicking the green button. I even went back and went through the process following step by step what you said to do. Well, I'm going to bed and see how it sits in the morning. 8 or 10 am.
i just did it on mine and before clicking on save settings had the not enabled
clicking on the save settings while still looking at the head section - it then went away
can you do a screen shot of what you put into the head section - it almost sounds like it cannot understand what to do with the information
I couldn't have done it without you! Again I thank you from the bottom of my heart. If I could show you a tear, it would be right here.
Blessings,
Linda

Hi Linda,
If you didn't get the link its
https://search.google.com/search-console
To my knowledge, you only get the tracking code when you add your site as a property.
Hope that helps,
Michael
