Happy Independence Day!
This blog is inspired by "The time when I can hear pins dropping, our hearts beating, and feel the stillness that surrounds me." by Barb and the Blog Dog
That's the peace we finally heard and felt about 2:30 AM, after the fireworks had erupted earlier in the evening on July 4, 2020. Finally, there was a stillness that I don't ever remember as quite so memorable.
We enjoyed fireworks displays around our city, literally surrounding us on our circle, such as never before. It was as tho people are crying out their love of freedom and displaying that love to all the heavens.
For literally hours we could hear booms, bangs, and sizzling pops that were going on one after another. In all directions, we were encompassed by brilliant displays of great wonder.
I literally swung around in my swivel chair watching the various displays of individual, private fireworks that were shared with the city inhabitants from people's back yards, Thousands of $$ must have been spent privately by hundreds of people around our community.
We wondered why people would spend so much money on fireworks. Then it occurred to us that there is so much division among people, afraid to say what they really feel, but in this way, we all feel the same love of country and freedom and we can share it without repercussion...
When all the noise had subsided, there was a stillness that was like "The time when I can hear pins dropping, our hearts beating, and feel the stillness that surrounds me."
Happy Independence Day!

Not cancelled here, obviously! What a sad situation this nation finds itself in. Mobs are ok but fireworks not?
