Pinterest Power!

2.7K followers

I just checked my Pinterest after following someone back on the Pinterest thread.

A relatively new account with a whole 19 followers, it apparently has 38.5K unique monthly visitors.

How is that even possible?

My other account of many years has 3.1K followers and has only 14.7K monthly viewers.

Now the older account just has monthly viewers. Where the new account has 'Unique monthly viewers'. So that has to be better, unique monthly viewers, surely?

Where am I going with this? To be honest I am not sure, I am flabbergasted by the newer account's numbers, especially as despite my best intentions I rarely go on there to do anything. I just share blog posts to it.

To both actually, yet the newer one has so many more visitors.

I really, really need to do some training on Pinterest. It is a good resource that I clearly under use and don't know enough about yet to use properly. But it seems I know enough to produce lots of visitors.

Any hints and/or tips will be gratefully accepted.

Every day I learn something new, often several somethings. Yet the more I learn the more I realise I don't know.

There is so much knowledge out there and not enough time to learn it all.

"There is so much knowledge out there and not enough time to learn it all."
This is so very true. I am constantly wishing that I could find the formula to help with that problem.
As for Pinterest, all I have is the knowledge that Jay did a series of webinar's about the platform. From the comments I have seen, they are meant to be very good.

Thank you for the reminder Twack, I need to watch them at some point, preferably sooner rather than later.

I wonder if playing recordings while sleeping would add more knowledge?

There is truth in them there words. I fall asleep listening to MP3's.

I listen while working, hoping the knowledge will fall in or sneak past my subconscious, while I'm not paying attention.

I believe it all goes in. I have found that for the best results, I have to listen to the same track for at least six weeks, which isn't that bad. I'm not sure if I've ever got past about ten minutes, most times it's more like three.

But if you fall asleep and its still playing, then its going straight in without any distractions, isnt it?

Exactly, it is multitasking in the purest form.

Well done you!! A major multitasker even while you sleep.

I just reached 1,000 followers yesterday. About 4 months ago, it was under 100. A simple trick to do this is to follow your competitor's followers and a good chunk of them will follow you back. To do this, type in your niche on the search bar. On the right where it says All Pins, click that and underneath you'll see people. Click that. Click on a profile with the most followers then click Community then click followers. It's safe to follow up to 100 a day.

Hope this helps.

Sonny

Hadn't thought of doing that John, thank you.

I used Pinterest since February this year. I have less than 2 followers for the first two months. Until now I have 72 followers only. Last week I target young adults to increase my follower and it works from 51 followers to 72 followers. About 33% following back.
From February to April, the post viewer is very low and hard to get 100 viewers. By the end of April, new post viewers sudden increase above 200 viewers per day. Last 2 weeks, I send out 2 posts, one has 360 viewers but the other has only 3 viewers. Last week, I send out two new posts with a title as "World's lightest e-bikes", First post gets 1k viewers and the Second post gets 1.3k viewers. I believed the title is important to attract young viewers. This is Pinterest viewers. If the title cannot attract them, they are lazy to move their fingers. Just my sharing.

Thanks for sharing, Stephen. Have you tried using Tailwind? It can really help boost your traffic

Thanks, Sonny. I used your tailwind in Twitter, I reached 350 followers after one month. In Pinterest, I followed as many competitors as I can. Now is good time to follow their followers. Thank for sharing good idea to me again. I appreciated your help very much.

I'm glad it's working out for you, Stephen!

Sonny

Thank you Stephen, it's interesting the way it works. People scroll and their interest has to be caught quickly, otherwise they just keep going.

Linda, you are so right so much knowledge that we should tap into, I keep saying must do this pr that, especially social media. So will make the effort.

Stuart

Thank you Stuart.
I keep saying those things too, like learning more about Pinterest. I have been saying it for months.
Must try harder.

I still haven't figured it out with pinterest, Linda. I know the basics but it still remains kinda mystery like google's ranking :)
I've watched some of the Jay's trainings on pinterest and used some tips on how to create pins and boards but I could also do with some good training.
Maybe there is some in progress.

Thank you Lenka.
I have watched the odd training, hasn't helped.
I like the step by step sort of training so I can stop it, have a go and then go back to it.
Fingers crossed we find something good.
