I changed my iPhone!

Nothing remarkable in that. My daughter got a new one and gave me hers. Result.

Everything from the old one migrated to the new, easy. Just sit them side by side and say yes when it asks. Simple! Son-in-law swapped the sim over, no problem,I am not techie.

Then I went away visiting family for a long weekend. Am here now. My work comes too, laptop and iPad, plus phone. I use the phone as a WiFi hotspot as there is no WiFi where I am staying with my stepmother. At 81, she doesn't use a computer, never has.

Did NOT think to check the hotspot worked with the new phone. Why would I? I've changed phones before, it just continued.

BUT this time, it refuses to connect to my laptop. IPad is fine, it connects but its slower going doing emails, replying to blogs etc. I'm used to a laptop or desktop for that.

So since I started traveling yesterday I have been fighting to find out why. I have put every sort of variation into google, read endless instructions, changed setting, changed them back again, then changed more settings. Very VERY frustrated by it.

But I didn't give up, my work is important to me, I did to keep up and also have orders waiting to be done from my original business.

FINALLY, finally I did it. I can now get on with my work faster and easier. I feel a sense of accomplishment because I did it myself.

PERSEVERANCE pays off! Or you could call it sheer stubbornness. Happy me, either way.

Well done for persevering. It always feels great to master a problem and understand what you needed to do.

Another feather in you cap.

Lily 😊

It certainly does and thank you Lily.

Yes, Linda, your perseverance did pay off! Isn't technology wonderful? I hate it when a computer thinks it knows more than I do and wants to do things on its own.

Virginia

Me too Virginia, thank you.

True. We must all persevere

Giving up is the easy option, digging your heels in and exploring every avenue is a pain, frustrating and time consuming but when you overcome the problem, it's brilliant.

Well done, it can be so challenging at times when what seems logical simply does not work ... no explanation or helpful hints it simply sits there, not doing what it should!
Perseverance definitely pays off in the long term ... in all ares of life!

Allan

Very challenging but my work was at stake Allan, so it ws do or die, lol.

Eating your way through the 'tech' world, one byte at a time. Nicely done Linda.

Nice to see someone having success on a Friday - and tech issues can be so frustrating. Great way to finish the week. Way to go Linda :)

Thank you John, tech issues are not my forte but stubbornness is luckily.

Linda, hope finds a way! Persistence does pay off.
Thanks
Joe

It certainly does Joe, thank you. Where some give up we know there is an answer somewhere.
