This may have been a glitch in the system...I know that once I had a comment go to the wrong website. The comment was for a product review, but the comment was actually credited to a travel website post.

I tried to delete the comment as it was referencing something entirely different and I had already made a comment on the travel post. The system would not allow me to delete the mistaken comment.

What I ended up doing was to rewrite the comment that reflected a review and wordsmithed it to indicate that I just HAD to come back to the post and make a second comment (the entire comment was changed) and that was accepted.

So the receiver ended up with two comments from me not through any fault on my side. Each was different. As to the gravatar that the person used, it could well be that they switched up to another one and your post came up again, so they commented again.

You can add more than one gravatar and you can switch up if you have more than one it appears. Attached are two screenshots to show you what I mean...You see this in the settings tab in the comment feature area...

I only use one here so I cannot switch but it sure looks like the person making comments can. When might that be appropriate? Not sure, but for me, it is not. I do not mind having my name and personal brand out there...

I may end up creating a second gravatar for the company as the CEO or similar though, or create one that highlights the branding for our products or services, so I could see where someone will have more than one.

This is a good question for Kyle and Carson, perhaps some tweaking has to be done in the system. It does not necessarily mean that the person making two comments was trying to get over on the system for the reasons I mention...

That didn't sound right. But the action you have taken to report it to Kyle seemed to be the best thing to do.
I'll like to hear Kyle's response. I did not know any person could do that.
Initially, I was thinking the person was not sure he sent the first one and therefore decided to repeat. But using different accounts?? That was the kicker.

Hi Linda, sorry to hear about this. No, this person is not permitted to make a comment to your post with different avatar's. Especially if it is too similar or you think it is a duplicate. The person is trying to circumvent the system just to gain rankings.

I personally would report this to Kyle, as he is pretty good when it comes to people trying to mess up the WA platform.
