A question about QSR!
So.... not long ago I read a post on here about QSR.
I can't remember who did the post now. That happens a lot, the more I learn the more stuff that falls out the back or gets archived so deeply I will never find it again. Or at least within the next few months, lol.
Anyway, I digress .... it's the fault of all the stuff running round inside my head, it gets mixed up with the important stuff and then pops up randomly.
Ooops doing it again!
SO! The BIG question for all those more knowledgeable and wiser than me. Which to be fair is most, if not all of you.
So, getting to the point. I read that a QSR of 50 or less is much better, 30 or less, better still.
So is a zero QSR really good or bad? Found a few of those and with a QSR of 4, plus some in the 20's. I got quite excited about this but then doubt set in and I thought I would ask first before writing up all these post titles.
What do you think? Really low QSR a good thing or too low Bad?
Thank you in advance for being the amazing and helpful people you continue to be despite my inane questions.
Linda

This webinar by Jay Neill was very helpful for me on this topic, and many others relating to ranking pages and posts: Jays 10 Step Process on Getting Content to Rank
It was coming across the 0 QSR. It just didn't seem right somehow. Then I got quite excited recalling a blog post saying under 50 is best and under 30 better still so wondered of the 0 was even better.
But then you start over thinking, or I do and then wondered if that was too low.
Did some exploring but couldn't find anything about it, hence the question.
Hello Linda,
The QSR is the level of competence that a keyword has. The lower that number is BETTER. If you click on KQI it will show you in 3 Colors Green-Yellow and Red. Green is the best. I hope I was clear.

Linda,
In general keywwords that have a lot of traffic also have a lot of competition. It is very difficult I would say impossible for Google to show you in the top positions. It is "always" convenient for you to choose keywords with less competition. Here you will have more chances that your site appears on the first page of Google. The so-called long tail keywords are composed of 4 or more words. These keywords you must to select.

Thank you Claudio. I have been tying out some longer ones, that is how I came up with the zero ones.
Jay Neill once said on a webinar on SEO that a QSR of 0 means something is not right and should not be used. However, if you like the phrase and it fits in well, use it.
Personally I prefer a QSR to be less than 50. The smaller the better. But if you really like a phrase that has a QSR between 50 and 100, use it. Also look at the traffic. The higher the better.
All the best.

Hi Linda
I personally always go for as low a QSR as possible but of course it has to have a good traffic volume as well and the SEO I like to see is in the high 80's into the 90's.
For example this keyword I found the other day for an article -
what to work from home with
qsr 0 traf 35183 seo 85
A pretty good keyword, wouldn't you agree?
Zero QSR, lots of traffic and the middle 80's for SEO
I will be using it.
Traffic is the most important factor so if you find keywords with a lot of traffic and a QSR under 50 but preferably as low as possible I reckon you're on to a winner.
Enjoy your Sunday.

Ahh, I was looking more at QSR and SEO than traffic. I need to look at those again.
Thank you for your help Robert.
Low traffic just now is ok for the long term Linda but if you want to see visitors to your site now then go with the high traffic volume result.
High traffic to your site can do nothing but good for your ranking.
It always pays to dig deep when looking for good results whatever Keyword Tool you use.
Robert
Thank you Robert. I am after both long and short term results though short term are more easily supplied by social media.
Will have to give it some thought.
No probs Linda and keep digging for those keywords, it will pay in the long term.
As they say - this is a marathon, not a sprint.
Robert
It certainly will.I am definitely training for the marathon.
